MTV has pulled the plug on the upcoming Reality Con event amid coronavirus fears.
The three-day immersive event, which was set to take place in May, featured a line-up of reality TV stars including Geordie Shore’s Chloe Ferry and Charlotte Crosby, and TOWIE’s Joey Essex in attendance.
However, with the life-threatening virus continuing to spread, and UK cases rising, event organisers have decided to shelve the event until next year.
An insider told The Sun Online the social gathering will no longer take place in London over safety concerns.

The source told the publication: “MTV would rather be safe than sorry and the safety of the fans and talent come first.”
A spokeswoman for MTV told The Sun Online: “Due to concerns around the coronavirus (Covid-19), ViacomCBS Networks UK has taken the decision to postpone MTV Reality Con as a precautionary measure until 2021.”
Other reality stars including Nathan Henry, Holly Hagen, Sophie Kasaei and Alex and Olivia Bowen were also due to attend the event.

Charlotte, who found fame on MTV’s Geordie Shore, previously mocked the coronavirus as she donned a “Bali b****es” mask at a recent hen-do party in Sunderland.
The 29-year-old organised a surprise for her bride-to-be friend at The Palm in the northern town ahead of their lavish trip to Bali.
Despite there being no reported coronavirus cases on the Indonesian island, the blonde bombshell dished out the black masks emblazoned with the remark to her fellow hen party attendees – something that didn’t go down well with fans.

MTV’s decision to postpone the Reality Con event comes hours after UK cases reach 373, a rise of 54 from yesterday’s figure.
A man in his early 80s, with underlying health conditions, became the sixth person to die in the UK after contracting the virus.
