Nicki Minaj Gets Real About Initial Hesitation to Collaborate With Doja Cat for 'Say So' Remix

    Instagram

Days after claiming the top of Billboard Hot 100 with the collaboration, the ‘Anaconda’ hitmaker clears up rumors she had been begging the ‘Juicy’ rapper’s team to let her do it.
    May 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Nicki Minaj hesitated to jump on the remix to rap newcomer Doja Cat’s “Say So” hit because she initially “couldn’t catch the beat” of the track.
The hip-hop stars’ catchy collaboration earned the artists their first number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 last week (begins May 11), but Minaj admits she initially wasn’t sure how to tackle the tune, so she took her time before agreeing to feature on the single.
The “Anaconda” hitmaker revealed the news on Twitter over the weekend (May 16-17) as she cleared up gossip suggesting she had been begging Doja Cat’s team to let her record the remix.
Explaining how the track came about, Minaj wrote, “I guess I never answered this & I c u guys chatting (sic).”
“I got a text from josh @ my label saying they got a request from her label. About 2 weeks later, I got another text from Jeff @ mngmnt (management). I sat on it (the song) for a while cuz I couldn’t catch the beat for the life of me really (sic).”

She added, “I was in full quarantine/hiatus mode. No social media. Had no clue what was going on in the music world.”

Landing Minaj for the remix was a dream come true for Doja Cat.
She previously revealed on North Carolina radio station Kiss 95.1 FM, “It (collaboration) was a conversation for a long time. And I was like, ‘This is who I want, this is who I want. Please God, please, please, please.’ And it just happened.”
Minaj’s remix helped to propel “Say So” up the Hot 100, making chart history as the first collaboration between two female rappers to top the countdown, beating Megan Thee Stallion’s new track with Beyonce Knowles, “Savage (Remix)”, to number one.

Scooter Braun Thanks Ariana Grande for Being Humble in the Wake of 6ix9ine Attack

    Instagram

After the ‘Stuck With U’ singer hit back at accusation that she and Justin Bieber manipulated chart result, her manager offers the ‘Gooba’ rapper a lengthy explanation on how the chart works.
    May 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ariana Grande’s manager, Scooter Braun, has jumped on the singer’s lengthy attack on Billboard Hot 100 chart rival Tekashi 6ix9ine after he suggested she and Justin Bieber didn’t deserve to be number one.
The rapper, who bowed at three on the new countdown with “Gooba”, accused the pop pair of buying their way to the top of the countdown, prompting Grande to issue a long statement shooting down his claims and urging Tekashi to be “humble” and “be grateful you’re even here.”
Her response prompted a comeback from the rap star, who added, “I don’t want you to think that I’m coming at you. I’m not saying you’re not talented, I’m not saying you can’t sing. You’re a beautiful singer, you just don’t understand my pain.”
He had previously told fans in a video that he had learned the same credit card had been used to buy multiple copies of Bieber and Grande’s duet.
And now Braun has joined the feud, offering Tekashi a lesson in how the chart works, “Only domestic streams are counted for a domestic chart. If someone is counting their total they aren’t counting correctly… We never disclose our sales until end of week. That is called strategy and is and always has been our policy… Nielsen (chart compilers) and billboard rules state clearly one credit card can only buy max 4 copies (sic). Anything above that the entire amount gets thrown out. They review that. All must be confirmed. Which it was.”
Scooter confirms there was an investigation surrounding this week’s charts, but adds, “it was into a video that had 6 times the amount of paid bot activity than the normal video. That video was not ours.”
He added, “Ariana thank you for being so humble. Others should do the same.”
Braun also made it clear he is “proud” of Grande and fellow charge Bieber’s latest chart achievement, adding, “honored to stand with you always.”

Justin also responded to 6ix9ine’s claims on social media, adding, “He said 30k was bought with 6 credit cards but that is a lie. The rules are clear one credit card can buy max 4 copies (sic). Anything over that the entire amount gets thrown out (sic).”
“Nielsen (chart compilers) company checks this and found all our sales were legit because our fans are amazing and bought them. Don’t discredit our fan base with false info.”
He also ripped in to the rapper for failing to mention he’s part of the song in his initial attack on Grande, adding: “If you gonna say her name make sure you say mine because it’s our song.”

6ix9ine Trolls Justin Bieber for Defending Ariana Grande Amid Billboard Drama

    Instagram/WENN

This arrives after Ariana addresses the allegations made by the ‘Gooba’ artist that she manipulated the Billboard 100 chart to make her and Justin’s new song ‘Stuck With U’ top it.
    May 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – The Billboard drama involving 6ix9ine a.k.a. Tekashi69 and Ariana Grande continues to heat up. Further making it complicated was Justin Bieber, who is featured in Ariana’s “Stuck With U”, as he posted a lengthy Instagram post to defend his collaborator after being accused of chart manipulation by the rapper.
“He says his streams don’t count. Yes they do but he is counting his global streams and this is a domestic chart so only domestic streams count,” the “Despacito” hitmaker said of Tekashi in a Instagram Story post on Monday, May 18. “60,000 units came because we don’t disclose our numbers until the end of week. That’s called strategy.”
“He said 30k was bought with 6 credit cards but that is a lie. The rules are clear one credit card can buy max 4 copies. Anything over that the entire amount gets thrown out. Nielsen company checks this and found all our sales were legit because our fans are amazing and bought them. Don’t discredit our fan base with false info,” Justin continued weighing in on the matter.
He added, “This is my song with Ariana Grande and I’m honored to work with her to help raise money for a great cause. If you gonna say her name make sure you say mine because it’s our song.”

Tekashi caught wind of the post and reacted to it. However, he didn’t spare much thought as the rapper only trolled Biebs for wanting credit for the song. ” ‘Say my name too,’ ” he wrote on Instagram, alongside a skull emoji.

Tekashi69 trolled Justin Bieber for defending Ariana Grande.
This arrives after Ariana addressed the allegations from the “Gooba” artist that she manipulated the Billboard 100 chart to make “Stuck With U” top it. “I would like to address a few things which i don’t usually do (i don’t give my energy to drama or strange accusations normally but this has gone a little too far)… my fans bought the song. JUSTIN’S fans bought the song. OUR fans bought this song (never more than four copies each, AS THE RULES STATE). they are ride or die motherf**kers and i thank god every day that i have them in my life. Not just when they fight for us to win (even when i ask them not to as i did this week) but because they’re some of the greatest people i know,” she said on Instagram.
Tekashi quickly responded to it with a new video. “I don’t want you to think that I’m coming at you. I’m not saying you’re not talented, I’m not saying you can’t sing. You’re a beautiful singer, you just don’t understand my pain. My frustration is from Billboard. I speak for the millions of kids that come from nothing, right,” he explained.

Ariana Grande Asks 6ix9ine to Humble Himself After He Accused Her of Chart Manipulation

    Instagram

The ‘7 Rings’ hitmaker has topped the Billboard Hot 100 with her Justin Bieber collaboration, ‘Stuck With U’, but the ‘Gooba’ rapper suggests that the two bought their way to the top.
    May 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ariana Grande has fired back at rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine after he suggested she and Justin Bieber bought their way to the top of the U.S. charts.
The pop pair’s new track, “Stuck With U”, debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on Monday, May 18 – two spots above the rap star, whose “Gooba” bowed at three.
After picking up a copy of the new countdown, Tekashi posted a video from his post-prison home confinement and said, “I want the world to know that Billboard is a lie. You can buy number ones on Billboard.”
He added, “They purchased half of those things with six credit cards. When we asked where was those six credit cards linked to, Billboard said, ‘We can’t disclose that information’ (sic).”

Angry Ariana was quick to dismiss the rapper’s claims as she thanked fans for giving her a third number one debut.
“Anyone who knows me or has followed me for a while knows that numbers aren’t the driving force in anything i do,” she wrote on social media. “i’m grateful to sing. grateful to have people who want to listen. grateful to even be here at all. i didn’t have a number one for the first five years of my career and it didn’t upset me at all because from the bottom of my heart, music is everything to me. my fans are everything to me. i promise i couldn’t ask for another f***ing thing.”
Not just when they fight for us to win (even when i ask them not to as i did this week) but because they’re some of the greatest people i know.”
And she wasn’t done there, adding, “Sales count for more than streams. u can not discredit this as hard as u try. to anybody that is displeased with their placement on the chart this week or who is spending their time racking their brain thinking of as many ways as they can to discredit hardworking women… i ask u to take a moment to humble yourself. be grateful you’re even here. that people want to listen to u at all. it’s a blessed position to be in (sic).”
She concluded her carefully-worded rant by stating, “Congratulations to all my talented a** peers in the top ten this week. even number 3. And thank u to @billboard for this honor.”

Tekashi responded with a new video on Monday, addressing Ariana directly and saying, “I don’t want you to think that I’m coming at you. I’m not saying you’re not talented, I’m not saying you can’t sing. You’re a beautiful singer, you just don’t understand my pain. My frustration is from Billboard. I speak for the millions of kids that come from nothing, right. Let me show you something…”
He then revealed an old video of himself and shared TV footage of Ariana playing Cat Valentine, before adding that he comes from “a different background,” mentioning his mother “used to collect cans on the street” while he used to “be a dishwasher.”
He captioned the video, “@arianagrande All I’m saying is I worked super hard to make it out of Brooklyn NY (New York),” adding that he grew up on welfare, without a father.

Tekashi concluded his post with, “YOU ARE VERY TALENTED AND BEAUTIFUL GOD BLESS YOU. But you will NEVER UNDERSTAND MY PAIN.”

Barbz Mad at Usher for Calling Nicki Minaj a 'Product' of Lil' Kim

    WENN

The ‘U Got It Bad’ rapper inadvertently shades the ‘Anaconda’ hitmaker while weighing on potential ‘Verzuz’ battle between Nicki and Kim during an Instagram Live chat with Swizz Beatz.
    May 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Usher has incurred the wrath of Barbz. The R&B singer inadvertently threw shade at Nicki Minaj during an Instagram Live chat with Swizz Beatz while talking about potential “Verzuz” battles fans are begging for.
During their discussion on Sunday, May 17, they brought up a few “Verzuz” battles involving Lil’ Kim that fans want a lot. “I see a lot of, Lil’ Kim versus Foxy Brown. Then I see a lot of – Lil’ Kim versus Nicki? I see a lot of that,” Swizz said to Usher.
Usher thinks the latter battle is impossible, saying, “Nah, Nicki is a product of Kim.” His remark quickly gained reactions from social media users as Swizz alerted the “Yeah!” hitmaker, “You already trending on Twitter right now, by the way.” He went on enthusing, “This is the Verzuz effect, king. I see you trending on Twitter! This is special, this is fun.”

Usher didn’t further explain his comment, but considering his history with Nicki, he might not mean to disrespect her. He teamed up with the Harajuku Barbie on 2010’s “Lil’ Freak”, while he also worked with Kim when she appeared on his song “Just Like Me”.
This didn’t stop people from commenting on Usher’s claim about Nicki being a “product” of Kim. Agreeing with the awards-winning singer, one commented, “Of course she’s the product, Kim is the blue print.” An Instagram user reminded others, “Y’all are really dumb to think she’s not … she’s said it herself many times Kim influenced her and opened doors that allowed her to be the super star she is today.”
While acknowledging that Nicki was influenced by Kim, a third person thinks that the Trinidad and Tobago-born femcee has grown beyond that. “I mean she has always showed Kim love as she should Kim paved the way I’ll never take that from her….but let’s be real Nick has surpassed being ‘a product of lil Kim’ I know y’all Dont wanna hear the TRUTH…..I just wished Nick and Kim would squash whatever it is and make a hit together,” the said user wrote.
Another similarly said of the “Starships” raptress, “Nicki has surpassed lil Kim in every which way possible .. Nicki also gave usher some on her hottest versus on his song .. they always discrediting her.”
Some others slammed Usher for making such disrespectful comment about Nicki. “She wasn’t a product when he asked for a feature,” one said of Justin Bieber’s mentor. Another who disagreed with Usher commented, “Nicki Minaj is in her own lane! Give her her damn respect. Y’all stuck on these color wigs… and that lollipop picture… Kim cool but Nicki pen game is unmatched!!”
Also not having Usher’s comment, someone else clapped back, “HOW THO?! Nicki music isn’t comparable to Kim’s at all. Their music style is different and y’all know it. A few wings and appearances don’t mean nothing. And if we gone talk about ‘product’ Bc of style then let’s talk about how kim is a product of Cher and Madonna.”
