Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall Receive Warm Welcome in First 'Coming 2 America' Trailer

    [embedded content]

The two actors reprise their roles as Prince Akeem Joffer and his aide Semmi, who travel back to America to find Akeem’s son he never knew he has in the ‘Coming to America’ sequel.

    Dec 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall are back in regal glory in the first official trailer of “Coming 2 America”. After teased with the first-look photo released last week, glimpses of footage in the new film are made available online for viewing pleasure through the sneak-peek video.
Murphy’s Prince Akeem Joffer and Hall’s Semmi, Akeem’s best friend and aide, are still at the center of the story. Set years after the first film, the plot finds Akeem realizing that he fathers a child he never knew he has.
Akeem is set to become King of Zamunda when he discovers he has a son he never knew about in America – a street savvy Queens native named Lavelle (Jermaine Fowler). Honoring his royal father’s (James Earl Jones) dying wish to groom this son as the crown prince, since Akeem and Lisa’s (Shari Headley) daughter Meeka Joffer (KiKi Layne) is ineligible to take over the throne because Zamunda law rules that it has to be a male heir to take the throne, Akeem and Semmi set off to America once again.

The trailer, set to “Feel Right” by rapper Mystikal and Mark Ronson, sees the duo reuniting with the old men in the barber shop, with Murphy and Hall playing them as well. There’s also a look at Tracy Morgan as Lavelle’s uncle Reem, Wesley Snipes as Imani’s older brother General Izzi, Leslie Jones as Lavelle’s mother, and Teyana Taylor as General Izzi’s henchwoman.
Rick Ross and Davido are also set to make cameo appearance in the movie, which is directed by Craig Brewer. Kenya Barris, Barry W. Blaustein and David Sheffield wrote the screenplay based on a story by Blaustein, Sheffield and Justin Kanew.
Originally scheduled to be theatrically released on August 7 of this year, the movie will now debut domestically via Amazon Prime Video on March 5, 2021, excluding countries where Paramount Pictures will handle theatrical distribution.

'The Bachelorette' Grand Finale Recap: Tayshia Adams Struggling to Make Decision After Dad's Warning

    ABC

The grand finale of the long-running ABC dating competition picks up where the last episode off in which Tayshia is shocked over Ben Smith’s sudden return to the show despite him being eliminated at final four.

    Dec 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – The big moment for Tayshia Adams is finally here. In the Tuesday, December 22 finale of her season of “The Bachelorette”, Tayshia had to decide whether she would give her final rose to Ivan Hall, Zac Clark or Ben Smith, the latter of whom returned to the show despite being eliminated at final four.
The episode picked up where the last episode off in which Tayshia was shocked over Ben’s sudden return. “I can tell by looking at her eyes that there’s more under there,” Ben said in confessional, adding, “I know she has a rose ceremony in an hour… but I found a woman I’ve never felt this way about ever in my life, and I have to see where it goes.” Eventually, Tayshia allowed him to come to the rose ceremony that night. Not only that, she kissed him passionately.
Ivan, meanwhile, was confident that he would be the one getting the final rose. “I definitely feel like we have the strongest connection at this point,” he shared. Ivan, however, wasn’t the only one ready for a proposal. Zac told host Chris Harrison that he and Tayshia loved each other and he was “ready for a proposal. I’m ready to do it, but there’s no guarantees, especially around here.”
Later in the rose ceremony, Tayshia mentioned about disagreement she had with Ivan about religion. “I wish I could say that there were a lot of red flags prior to this week. And there haven’t been. It’s just like, at the end of the day, religion’s part of my morals and my beliefs,” she said, to which Ivan replied, “I definitely get it… That is the roadblock for the two of us. I was definitely struggling with bringing it up, ’cause, you know, all the girls I have dated in the past, it never ended because of religion or anything, but I know that’s something that’s important to you.” With that, Ivan was sent home.
The next day, Tayshia introduced Ben to her family. Ben revealed he felt nervous because he wanted to make a good impression. He told Tayshia’s mom Rosario, “I’m in love with your daughter. I’ve never felt this way in my lifetime.” Ben apparently won over her dad Desmond as he told him, “I think you’re a sincere young man. I see some good qualities in you, truthfully, I like that. And I really appreciate you being genuine.”
Tayshia brought Zac to meet her family later. He told Rosario that he could see him and Tayshia getting married and starting a family. Her parents liked Zac and love his chemistry with Tayshia. The next day, as Tayshia still couldn’t decide between Ben and Zac, her dad warned her about making a mistake. “I’ve seen you hurt before, and I can’t let that happen again,” he told her. “It might not be what you want to hear, but I don’t want you to be making the biggest mistake of your life.”

The warning definitely further made Tayshia confused and “overwhelmed” to the point she wasn’t sure if she wanted to get married again. But then when she spent some time together with Zac, Tayshia felt that she and Zac were meant together. It helped her realize that her heart wasn’t for Ben.
After she told Ben her feelings, Ben said, “I’m in love with you, that doesn’t change. I saw it going differently, but when you love somebody, you want them to be happy.” He told Tayshia that he was happy for her.
As he met Neil Lane to pick out the engagement ring he would give to Tayshia, Zac got emotional. Meanwhile, Tayshia was back to feeling scared of getting engaged after being divorced.
When Zac met Tayshia with a ring with him, he told Tayshia, “You’ve helped me experience a love I didn’t know existed, and you’ve made me smile more than anyone has ever made me smile. I love you, Tayshia. I love you because you’re a fighter. I love you because you’re a strong, independent woman. You make everyone around you better. I love you because you believe in me. I love you because you’re a total dork. And I love you because you drive me absolutely wild. I love everything about you. And I listened when you spoke of the importance of loyalty. I promise to be loyal to you.”
“That first night when I got here, I was extremely excited about the possibility of finding love, but also very nervous and scared, because I didn’t know if finding true love was possible,” Tayshia responded. “When I first met you, I thought to myself, ‘He’s different, and that man is kind. He shows gratitude, and has the biggest smile. He has been through a lot, but has never given up, But also has learned how to read me better than really anyone ever has, and knows how to comfort me when I’m down.’ ”
“There was one point in my life when I thought I would never get married, because of all the pain and the heartbreak I had been through, and I hit absolute rock bottom. And I know that I told you that I love you, but…,” she added before a long pause, “It’s more than that.”
She continued, “I love you, Zac Clark. And I’ll do absolutely anything to keep that huge smile on your face, because you do everything to keep a huge smile on mine.” Finally Zac took the ring box out of his pocket and kneeled. “Marry me,” Zac said, to which Tayshia replied, “Yes! Yes a thousand times! I love you!” She then gave him her final rose before heading to New York.

'The Exorcist' Sequel Has Found a Director

    Warner Bros. Pictures

‘Halloween Kills’ helmer David Gordon Green is reportedly in negotiations to sit behind the lens for the upcoming follow-up to the Oscar-winning horror movie.

    Dec 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – David Gordon Green is reportedly in talks to direct a new sequel to “The Exorcist”.
The “Halloween Kills” filmmaker is reportedly poised to take on another classic horror flick with Blumhouse Productions.
Little is known about the project at this stage and it is unknown as to whether it will ignore the previous two “Exorcist” sequels, two prequels and TV series, just as the 2018 Halloween film ignored the original slasher flick’s numerous follow-ups.
William Friedkin directed the original film, which was one of the highest-grossing horror flicks in history as well as the first film in the genre to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.
The movie was adapted from William Peter Blatty’s 1971 novel of the same name and starred Ellen Burstyn, Max von Sydow, and Linda Blair as possessed child Regan MacNeil. The film was so terrifying to audiences that many cinema-goers fainted or needed medical attention during screenings.

Friedkin recently revealed on social media that he would not be involved in any sequel.
The 85-year-old director wrote on Twitter, “There’s a rumour on IMDB that I’m involved with a new version of The Exorcist. This isn’t a rumour, it’s a flat-out lie.”
“There’s not enough money or motivation in the world to get me to do this.”
Earlier this year when the movie was first rumored to get a reboot, horror fans were outraged. They launched a petition condemning the project. Morgan Creek, the current owner of the franchise, later clarified on Twitter, “For the record, we will never attempt to remake THE EXORCIST.”
So it’s now apparently revealed the project is not a remake but a sequel.

KJ Apa Reveals Strict Rules on 'Riverdale' Set for Safe Kissing Scenes Amid Pandemic

    The CW

The Archie Andrews depicter shares the protocol implemented for the cast members on the set of his TV show for every kissing scenes to make sure it’s sure amid the Covid-19 crisis.

    Dec 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – The stars of “Riverdale” are taking no chances when it comes to filming kissing scenes amid the COVID-19 pandemic – the actors must rinse their mouths for a full minute before each take.
Actor KJ Apa has been filming season five of The CW series in Canada since production resumed in October (20), following a coronavirus-related shutdown in September, and there are extra safety precautions in place when the castmembers have to lock lips onscreen.
“They have us come to set a little early,” he tells America’s “Live with Kelly and Ryan”, “and we have to rinse our mouths for one minute. There’s a guy standing there with a timer, counting down 60 seconds, and we have to rinse our mouths out for 60 seconds before the scene, before every take…”
“It’s Listerine,” KJ adds, naming the mouthwash brand, and explaining that the routine “kills all the germs in your mouth.”

He’s not entirely convinced the extreme measures are really keeping him and his pals protected at work, though.
“In my mind, I’m like, by the time you’ve got your tongue in someone’s mouth, I’m not sure it even matters to be honest,” he shares.
But he admits life on set is a little sweeter thanks to the special safeguards.
“I mean, everyone’s got great breath,” he laughs.
While the “Riverdale” cast were required to rinse their mouths before every kissing scene, it’s another story with the “EastEnders” production. Bosses at the British soap reportedly called on the real-life partners of the show’s biggest stars to join the cast and help overcome social distancing regulations. They were enlisted as body doubles for intimate scenes amid the pandemic.

In a virtual interview, the book author also urges her Twitter followers to sign petitions to boycott the Bravo reality TV show and ‘repost the boycott flyers when you see them, turn off your TVs.’

    Dec 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – NeNe Leakes is sharing her new agenda, and it’s about getting her fans boycotting Bravo’s reality show “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”. On Monday, December 21, the 53-year-old star took to her Twitter account to ask her followers to cancel the show following her departure.
“Y’all ready to start this boycott yet? What has happened behind the scenes is WRONG!” so she tweeted. “While others were being promoted, BLACK WOMEN who created shows, created genres, built franchise and built networks were being DEMOTED … TURN OFF YOUR TV’S.”
In a separate tweet, the “Glee” actress went on to urge her fans, “Sign the petitions when you see them, repost the boycott flyers when you see them, turn off your TVs.”

Later in a virtual interview, the author admitted that she never thought to be in this kind of situation. “When you work at any company, you want elevation. It’s about leveling up, whether I was an actress or an executive. Everyone wants to level up in their opportunities in their jobs,” the OG “RHOA” star shared, adding her co-stars were being elevated while she was demoted instead.
Claiming that she was “given less and less episodes and these girls were getting more and more episodes,” NeNe noted that all original cast members across the franchise were getting increases except for her.

NeNe confirmed that she wouldn’t be returning for season 13 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” in September. “It wasn’t an easy decision for me. It was hard,” she said in a YouTube video at the time. “I’m just so happy that I can say that I was a part of a genre that opened up doors for Black ensemble reality shows. I want to thank everybody that has looked up to me over the years. … I want to thank Bravo for all the memories. … Thank you to the cast for all of the memories.”
Later in October, she opened up to Tamron Hall that she was “forced” to depart from the popular reality show due to unfair offer. “I can’t tell you everything I want from them, but I can tell you that I want fair treatment. I deserve fair treatment,” she said while getting emotional. “I haven’t done anything that no one else has done there or haven’t done even worse. So, I don’t deserve this treatment.”

    Dec 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – Actor KJ Apa hoped to really impress “Songbird” director Michael Bay with his first big stunt for the film – but he crashed and burned instead.
The “Riverdale” star was shooting the pandemic-themed love story over the summer, for which much of the action was filmed remotely as full production was yet to resume in Los Angeles following the spring shutdown due to the coronavirus.
And he was thrilled when the “Transformers” filmmaker came to the set in person to take charge of the New Zealander’s first action scene.
“Michael Bay had decided to come in and direct that specific scene,” KJ shared on America’s “Live with Kelly and Ryan”, “and it was the first time I had worked with him. He was operating the camera, we were ready for the first shot.”
