Katie Price to rake in seven-figure sum as music career set for lucrative surprise turn

EXCLUSIVE: Katie Price could rake in a fortune as her music career gets a surprise boost, with fans driving her single up the charts and tours potentially lining her pockets14:26, 05 Sep 2025Katie’s music career is kicking off(Image: YouTube)Katie Price’s music career could be on the verge of a major comeback, with industry experts suggesting the reality star could be raking in a whopping fortune if she capitalises on her renewed chart success. This comes after the news her 2017 track ‘I Got U’ stormed the charts last week and landed at number three after eight years of being released.Celebrity PR specialist Kayley Cornelius of Pressbox PR told Daily Star: “Katie Price’s music comeback could see her raking in a fortune, with fans already pushing her 2017 single ‘I Got U’ to number one in the charts despite the recent controversy surrounding her. If she can attract the same level of backing for her upcoming releases, Katie could be looking at bringing in six to seven-figures – especially if she manages to fully maximise her newfound fame this time around.”The expert added that streaming platforms and radio airplay could be pivotal to Price’s financial success and added: “With streaming services now dominating how consumers listen to music, and platforms like Spotify paying very little per stream, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for artists to earn big money directly from music sales.Katie could rake it is from her music earnings(Image: Getty Images for The Cambridge Union)”This is where Katie’s strong and loyal fan base will be put to the test. If they can once again drive her to the top of the charts, it will be instrumental in turning her comeback into a genuine success. The buzz on social media will also play a huge part, boosting her streaming numbers, helping her climb the charts, and getting her back onto commercial radio playlists.”She also highlighted the importance of touring and merchandising which could be lucrative for the former glamour model. The expert continued: “That said, the biggest money maker for Katie will almost certainly be merchandising and touring. Artists generally see a much higher profit margin from live shows and product sales compared to streams or downloads, and this is where she could really cash in. Depending on the size and scale of any upcoming tours, she would likely be looking at a five to six-figure sum, so a serious payday if she can get out on the road.”The experts shared their opinions(Image: PA)PR expert Rochelle White also claimed the Pricey’s chart resurgence has reignited her enthusiasm for music. Rochelle added: “I feel that Katie will take this as an opportunity and double down on it. The fact that her single ‘I Got U’ has had a resurgence and got to Number 3 on the UK dance charts, very unexpectedly I feel that her fans and her have a renewed interest.”Seeing her reaction, I’m sure this has sparked enthusiasm in her and will make her want to do more. One thing about her is that she will turn her hand to anything and will want to prove people wrong. I feel that she is a big believer in herself and so I think she will try and capitalise on this.”The expert also broke down the potential earnings from streaming and downloads which could all add up in the star’s bank account. She shared: “So she could make from streaming (depending on the number of streams) around £5,000 – £8,000 that is based on 1 million streams on Apple Music and around £2,000 – £3,000 via Spotify. If she got 20,000 downloads which is a rough estimate for a top 3 single, it could be around £12,000. It will depend on how much it is streamed, purchased and if she is quick to build on that success.”With social media backing, radio airplay, and her loyal fan base all poised to support her, experts suggest Katie’s music career could transform from a one-time experiment into a full-blown commercial success.Article continues belowWant all the biggest Showbiz and TV news straight to your inbox? Emmerdale star’s dad jailed for 17 years as actress says ‘I always knew what he did’

Kelli Hollis, who played Ali Spencer in the ITV soap, has never spoken about her relationship with her dad publicly, but two years after he was jailed, she has now broken her silence14:16, 05 Sep 2025Updated 14:51, 05 Sep 2025(Image: Getty Images)Former Emmerdale actress, Kelli Hollis, has opened up about her father’s past as a convicted drug kingpin who was sentenced to 17 years in prison. The actress, known for her role as Ali Spencer on the ITV soap from 2011-2015, had kept this part of her life private until now, despite it haunting her thoughts for years and attempts by some social media users to expose her.Now ready to share her personal story, she spoke exclusively to the Manchester Evening News, determined to tell her tale once and for all before moving forward with her life. The 49-year-old actress, who previously relocated to Thailand for a significant career shift, started the exclusive chat with her usual warm smile. However, she quickly made it clear just how apprehensive she felt about revealing such personal family details. That being said, it’s important to highlight that she expressed no shame regarding her father’s past. Her father, Gwynne Thomas Hollis, is no longer a part of her life, but this wasn’t always the case.Drug dealer Gwynne Hollis was caged for 17 years in 2023 (Image: North Yorkshire Police)”My dad was my world,” Kelli confided. “I will be honest, we haven’t spoken in almost ten years, but that is other normal family stuff. That is not because he has gone to prison. I absolutely adored my dad… massively. He used to joke and say I was the son he always wanted as I’m the only girl and the oldest and I have his personality and confidence.”I loved him with all my heart. He is my dad at the end of the day.”Kelli’s parents separated when she was just three, but her father Gwynne, a career criminal, remained a constant presence. However, from an early age, she began to understand that her dad was different and involved in criminal activities, specifically drug dealing.”I have always known all my life what he does,” said Kelli, who once broke down in tears in court when her father was sent to prison earlier in his life.”But where I am from, this isn’t me saying it is OK because it is not, but I am from Beeston in Leeds. Everyone can relate to Shameless and the lifestyle and the council estate thing. So I suppose you just get on with it.Kellil recently watched back episode one of Shameless for the first time in years(Image: Unknown)”But my dad, I will be honest, he was always supportive when I got an opportunity to be an actor because it came about very suddenly and he did nothing but encourage me to stay away from the life he has led. So I will always be grateful for that.”As Kelli moved forward in life, she worked at the local pub, a place where everyone knew everyone else’s business, so her dad’s shady dealings were hardly kept under wraps. She added: “I had suspicions as a teenager, just because of his persona and the way people were around him, that kind of thing. And then as I grew up, it was just what it was.”Laughing, she continued: “I didn’t think ‘oh s**t my dad is a drug dealer’, do you know what I mean? It wasn’t like that. You just grow up and you only know what you know.”However, by sheer coincidence, Kelli found herself pursuing acting, landing major roles such as Yvonne Karib in Shameless and Ali Spencer in Emmerdale. Her father also dabbled in acting, and the pair even collaborated on projects including Tina Goes Shopping, a drama that secured a Bafta nomination.Nevertheless, she revealed: “My dad got some opportunities and he loved it and he was really good. We had a conversation and he said, ‘I can’t be on the back of your coattails and I can’t risk your career because of what I am doing.'”As Kelli’s star rose, she remained acutely aware that her father’s criminal past could potentially resurface to damage her reputation. This fear materialised in June 2023 when Gwynne was convicted of conspiring to supply class A drugs. He formed part of a major drug manufacturing and distribution network operating in and around York. Nevertheless, he failed to appear in court before police eventually tracked him down. She hopes to be back on our screens soon (Image: Shared Content Unit)At 66 years old, he was imprisoned and handed a 17-year sentence.Looking back on the ordeal, Kelli, who is a mother herself, explained: “We sort of knew it was coming. There had been a lot of stuff going on the previous years leading up to this. From my knowledge, they were trying to build a case for quite a few years.”It wasn’t unexpected but what was unexpected was that he ran off and he didn’t go to court. The sad thing is that if he had just done it, he probably would have got less because they gave him more because he bolted.”During the chat, where Kelli spoke eloquently about her extraordinary circumstances, the ex-soap actress highlighted something that some might consider rather ironic. It’s common knowledge that Kelli relocated to Thailand where she ran a cannabis bar, living there for two-and-a-half years before returning to the UK in November.Nevertheless, she remarked: “The hypocrisy for me here is that people are going to say, ‘oh she went to Thailand and she ran a weed shop.’ But the difference is legal and illegal at the end of the day.”She continued: “The bottom line is, it has nothing to do with me. I have not spoken to the man in ten years. He is a big grown man who has made his own life and made his own path and I have made mine.”Kelli spent over two years in Thailand with her partnerDespite their relationship being completely severed, we questioned Kelli about whether she felt compelled to contact her father when he was imprisoned for a lengthy stretch. She revealed: “Me and my dad’s relationship now is pretty much done to be perfectly honest and that is on both sides. I think if I did reach out, I probably wouldn’t get the response I would get anyway.”And do you know what, if he reached out I would probably be as stubborn and do the same to be honest, which is sad and makes me sad.”Coming from a tight-knit community, locals still voice their amazement to Kelli that she and her father remain estranged, particularly considering how utterly inseparable they once were. However, Kelli disclosed that her father was being supported by other relatives, including her own family members who have made visits to see him in prison. She has also been informed that Gwynne is managing well during his incarceration and has taken on something of a mentoring role, particularly assisting fellow inmates who are battling mental health issues.Nevertheless, despite their strained relationship and her decision to block his name on her phone to avoid seeing anything online about him, she acknowledged that he possessed some commendable qualities. She explained: “Even though he did the things he did, he is not a violent person. We are not talking about Kray twins where people are scared of him. To him it was just a job and it wasn’t a lifestyle.”Everybody loved him and he was a good guy who would do anything for anybody. For instance, there was a lovely lady who ran the local pub and she lost her husband. She was going to lose the pub, so a few of them chipped in to make sure she could stay afloat and not lose her home and her business.Kelli Hollis in Emmerdale(Image: ITV)”This was not somebody who people were scared of. He was always life and soul and it is sad that it has come to this. But I think it was inevitable considering his life. At some point, it was going to catch up with him, and the huge sentence was inevitable I think.”Concluding the interview, Kelli’s sense of relief was palpable, particularly as she had wrestled with the decision for several days beforehand, deliberating over whether to speak out. However, she wrapped up by saying: “I already feel better saying it out loud and knowing it will be put to bed.”It is just a personal thing for me to get ahead of, have my say, and then it be done rather than getting a text message to say ‘oh it is in the papers today.'”.Displaying her wit, she even playfully suggested a potential headline: “Shameless star’s shameless dad.”Article continues belowYet on a more serious note, she concluded: “You have to be proactive and this is more stress and a worry thing for me because I am not ashamed. It is not my life, it is my dad’s, but because we are so closely connected, and he has been involved in some of the projects I have worked with over the years, it just makes sense to have this out now and put it to bed.”It has been an everyday thing for me that is on my mind. But the bottom line is, he is the one that is in prison, not me.” More

Wuthering Heights has ‘discomforting’ sex scenes as nun fondles corpse erection

Actress Margot Robbie swaps Barbie pink for gothic chaos in a shocking Wuthering Heights remake which features BDSM and shocking scenes viewers certainly won’t forget13:08, 05 Sep 2025Updated 13:09, 05 Sep 2025Margot is set to star in the new blockbuster(Image: PR)Margot Robbie is set to leave Barbie’s pink dreamhouse well behind in her next big role – and fans should prepare themselves for something a whole lot darker. The Aussie actress, 35, will star in a brand-new take on Emily Brontë’s gothic classic Wuthering Heights but this is no ordinary period drama. Directed by Emerald Fennell, the woman behind twisted hit Saltburn, the adaptation is already causing a stir with test audiences.According to reports, viewers have branded the film “aggressively provocative and tonally abrasive,” with the story taking a far more explicit turn than readers of the original novel might expect.World of Reel revealed Fennell’s version “leans hard into Fennell’s now-familiar brand of stylised depravity” and includes shocking scenes that deviate dramatically from the source material. The new film is set to release on Valentine’s Day(Image: PR)The film reportedly opens with a jaw-dropping sequence involving a public hanging that spirals into chaos as the condemned man “ejaculates mid-execution.” The scene doesn’t end there as his death is said to trigger an “orgiastic frenzy” from the crowd, with even a nun joining in to “fondle the corpse’s visible erection.”That sets the tone for a deliberately unromantic retelling of Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw’s destructive love story. Other moments include several “intimate, clinical and purposefully discomforting” masturbation scenes, plus a BDSM-inspired encounter involving horse reins.Fennell, 39, is also said to use unsettling close-ups of everyday textures, from egg yolks dripping through fingers to slugs sliding down glass to heighten the tension.World of Reel praised the bold direction, saying: “The last thing anyone wants is another by-the-numbers adaptation. What the next film version called for was a jolt of fresh energy, something bold and unexpected. For better or worse, it seems that’s exactly what Emerald Fennell may have brought to the table.”She will be starring alongside Jacob Elordi(Image: PR)Margot has praised the filmmaker in the past, telling Variety: “She gets in your brain and she kind of taps into the most depraved parts of it, so that you’re complicit in the story. That’s the water-cooler moment — the thing that people are talking about two weeks afterwards.”The project sees Margot star alongside Jacob Elordi, 28, though the casting has already faced criticism. Casting director Kharmel Cochrane defended the choice, saying: “You really don’t need to be accurate — it’s just a book. There’s definitely going to be some ‘English lit’ fans that are not going to be happy.”Article continues belowWuthering Heights is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about films of 2025 and the release date has been cheekily set for Valentine’s Day.Want all the biggest Showbiz and TV news straight to your inbox? I’m A Celeb and X Factor star had to work in coffee shop after blowing fortune

George Shelley was a finalist on I’m a Celebrity in 2015 but before he became a band member in Lightlines, he was forced to work in a coffee shop after spending all his money11:53, 05 Sep 2025The I’m A Celeb star blew all his fortune(Image: ITV/REX/Shutterstock)George Shelley finished runner-up on I’m a Celebrity following his rise to fame with X Factor boyband Union J —but spent all his earnings after finding fame. After this, he reportedly found himself pulling shifts in a coffee shop just to make ends meet. This apparent setback might well have been a stroke of luck, as it ultimately guided him back towards his musical roots.George, 32, first burst onto the British entertainment scene in 2012 when he auditioned as a solo act on The X Factor. Despite being knocked out during bootcamp, he was brought back for judges’ houses as part of boyband Union J. The group eventually finished fourth in the competition. The performer then entered the jungle for I’m a Celeb in 2015, securing second place. Twelve months later, he departed Union J to chase acting and broadcasting opportunities, spending fourteen months on The Capital Breakfast Show and making guest appearances in programmes such as Benidorm, but his television work has since become increasingly sporadic.George Shelley opened up about his spending(Image: BBC)Currently, he’s part of new group Lightlines, though he’s disclosed that prior to this venture, he was grafting in a coffee shop after squandering all his music and television earnings. Speaking to The Sun, he revealed: “Last year I was just grafting a lot, doing a lot of social media for other people, video editing and coffee shop work.”He confessed he wasn’t particularly skilled as a barista and frequently damaged equipment, explaining he had to take the work because he’d “given up” on music. “I did smash a lot because I’m quite high energy. I’m always knocking things over and slipping over. I’d given up on music.”However, it was his job at Chi Chi’s coffee shop in Enfield, North London, that steered George back to his musical roots, introducing him to his Lightlines bandmate, Alex Pothecary, reports the Mirror.Alex, who happened to be George’s boss, discovered his new barista was a renowned singer. Upon this revelation, Alex, who holds a Masters in musical composition, and George began jamming together.Soon after, George crossed paths with the third member of Lightlines, drummer Will Jackson, in another coffee shop, forming their trio. “The songs that I write by myself, they’re very introspective and deep,” George shared.George was part of Union J”And when I realised these boys could play guitar and drums, I was like, ‘This feels really right’.”In July of this year, they launched their first single, Wasted. In this debut track, George croons about “pills and bars” and “getting wasted”, drawing from his personal experiences following the loss of his sister Harriet in 2017.”When my sister passed away, dealing with the grief on top of the rejection of the industry, it was a lot. My coping mechanisms were toxic for a long time and I was just in the wrong environments.”Now, George embraces periods of total sobriety to concentrate on his music. The band is gearing up to drop their first album, and George has expressed that one of the reasons he’s so invested in it is to regain “agency” over his life.He stated: “A big part of me doing music again is to make sure I don’t hand over my autonomy, and that I have agency over my own life and my creative choices.”He also mentioned he’s not averse to taking on odd jobs, such as being a barista, once more. “If in a month’s time I need to get some cash in, I’ll just do some night shifts somewhere or do some gardening.”I’ve not got an ego, thinking that I’m too good for having to work again.”Article continues belowWant all the biggest Showbiz and TV news straight to your inbox?
