Amanda Holden given serious warning by BGT bosses ahead of Manchester auditions

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has been warned to toe the line this week when the 2020 auditions reach Manchester.

Show bosses are keen to avoid a repeat of last year’s antics which saw the whole of The Lowry theatre evacuated after Amanda and Simon tried – and failed – to cook beans on toast in the venue’s kitchens.

A source told Daily Star Online: “The London auditions were a success and production want to keep things that way.

“Last year Amanda and Simon went rogue midway through filming in Manchester as they got hungry.

“It turned out they had snuck off to the kitchens to make beans on toast but thing didn’t go to plan.

“Bosses smelt burning coming from the kitchen and went to investigate – they only just managed to stop the smoke alarms going off as they had burnt all the food.

“If production hadn’t have acted and left Simon and Amanda to it the whole of the The Lowry Theatre would have had to be evacuated.”

The insider added: “Bosses aren’t taking any chances this time around.

“Simon and Amanda have be told they can’t repeat last year’s antics.

“A full evacuation of The Lowry would seriously cause a massive headache for production both in terms of timing frame and budgets.”

Last month Daily Star Online revealed how producers suffered an epic leak regrading their Golden Buzzer acts after Simon boldly told fans at The London Palladium they could take as many pictures and tweet what they wanted.

As he took to his seat, Simon turned to the packed venue before saying: “You’ve probably been told you can’t take pictures, you can’t do this… Do what the hell you like.”

Meanwhile, a source at the time told Daily Star Online: “Obviously the standard protocol is for fans to keep their phones in their pockets during filming of any TV show.

“The last thing a producer wants is for a sea of iPhones to be visible behind the judges during the show – it would look ridiculous.

“Simon was simply trying to hype up the crowd as he usual does but it’s hardly surprising details leaked after he ended up telling them they could take as many pictures as they liked.”

BGT returns to ITV later this year.
