Susan Boyle’s team worried that she had been abducted during a trip to the US after she disappeared to go for a lunch date.
The 58-year-old, who rose to fame when she sang I Dreamed a Dream on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, went on her first date in six years but it ended in disaster.
The Scottish singer met a “handsome” doctor while in the US around six years ago and went for lunch with him for 45 minutes, but forgot to inform her team.

Recalling the memory to OK! magazine in her most recent interview, Susan said: “Youngsters may be able to do it [go on dates] but I haven’t got the time.
“It is still nice to be asked though. I had a date in America about six years ago, which lasted 45 minutes.
“I went for a massage in the spa of a hotel and met a doctor and then we went out for lunch.”

Susan went on to explain that as it was spontaneous date she didn’t tell anyone where she was going.
She continued: “I didn’t tell anyone and my team thought I’d been kidnapped. They were really panicking because I had a show that night.
“The guy was nice but he wasn’t for me. I couldn’t be dealing with keeping up with the correspondence.”

When asked if she would be open to dating now or in the future, she replied by saying she’s not.
She explained: “No, I’m not advertising! It’s never been a priority for me.”
