It was the gripping thriller that gripped the nation, and arguably catapulted Jodie Comer into the spotlight, ahead of her starring turn in Killing Eve.
Suranne Jones, 41, was sublime in the role of the scorned Doctor Foster, as she started a new life after her husband left her for Comer’s character.
And fans will be delighted to learn that a spin-off of the much-loved show is in the works.
Titled Life, the programme will focus on Gemma Foster’s (Suranne Jones) neighbour Anna Baker, played by Victoria Hamilton.

Bertie Cavel, who played Gemma’s husband on the show, cast doubt on whether Suranne and Jodie, 26, will return, citing their busy schedules.
But The Sun has reported Life has a shared universe with Doctor Foster, so we’re not giving up hope yet!
Speaking about the new show, writer Mike Bartlett said: “In the last series of Doctor Foster Anna split up with Neil and moved away.

“But I loved her as a character and suspected that was really the start of her story, rather than the end.
“In Life we find her living alone, under a different name, in a new city.
“It’s one of four story strands that make up the series, the other three being new, completely different interconnected stories that explore the epic and extraordinary in our everyday lives.”

In Doctor Foster we saw Anna and her hubby Neil struggling to keep their marriage afloat.
After years of having affairs, Neil promised Anna he’d be faithful. He also struck up a close friendship with Gemma, despite the fact, they too had a fling.
