Ellen Page has revealed they are transgender and now asks to be recognised as Elliot Page.
The Juno star, 33, shared a long post on Twitter confirming their pronouns and announcing that they are trans.

The actor asked for “patience” as their joy is “fragile.”
“I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life,” they wrote.
“I’m scared of the invasiveness, the hate, the ‘jokes’ and of, violence. To be clear, I am not trying to dampen a moment that is joyous and one that I celebrate, but I want to address the full picture.”

As the letter came to a close, the star signed off “all my love, Elliot”.
They went on to thanks the trans community for their “courage, generosity, and ceaselessly working to make this world a more inclusive and compassionate place”.
Elliot wrote: “My pronouns are he/they.”
The star was instantly backed by their army of fans online after the announcement.
One wrote on Twitter: “Amazing. Welcome, Elliot! We’re lucky to have you.”

Another said in an emotional show of support: “Your strength, bravery and activism – not to mention all the art you contribute to this earth – is truly special. Thank you for being so open about your journey and for fighting so hard to make the world a better place.”
In the letter, Elliot revealed they “love being trans” and loves “being queer.”
Following the publication of the letter on their social media channels, the Canadian changed their name on the profiles.
