Emmerdale fans predict Chris Tate will return from the dead after Charity remark

Emmerdale fans picked up on a reference to Chris Tate on Wednesday’s episode – hinting a return from the dead could be on the horizon.

Played by Peter Amory, Chris was killed off his 2003, dying on the floor of Home Farm with Charity Dingle by his side.

Before he died, Chris fathered a child by his third wife Charity, and she went on to raise little Noah by herself.

Unfortunately, recent scenes have seen Charity’s parenting skills slip, as she forced Noah out of the house after her drinking got out of control.

During this week’s trip to the dales, Charity made reference to Noah’s late father, recalling his vindictive behaviour.

A desperate Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) burst into the house, letting Charity know Noah was determined to join the army in an effort to flee Emmerdale.

Scoffing, Charity insisted Noah was only threatening to join the army in an act of manipulation, saying the teen was “just like his dad”.

Spotting the reference to the late Chris, one fan took to Twitter, saying: “CHRIS MENTION WOOO!”

Chris’ death rocked the village 17 years, ago as Charity and Cain’s sordid affair left him bitter and vengeful in the weeks before his demise.

Having discovered Charity had been having an affair, Chris – who was terminally ill at the time – decided to poison himself to frame his wife with murder.

Determined to spite his cheating wife, the last word Chris ever uttered was “wh*re,” as he looked at Charity above him.

If Chris were to return, it wouldn’t be an Emmerdale first – earlier this year, Emmerdale matriarch Lisa Dingle made a ghostly return, appearing as a voice inside Belle Dingle’s mind.

Could a haunting Chris Tate return be on the cards?

Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra helping on Thursdays at 8pm.
