GMB thrown into chaos as guest rips off mic and storms off set 'in a strop'

Good Morning Britiain was thrown into chaos this morning as guest Iain Dale stormed off set.

The British broadcaster was one of three guests on the ITV breakfast show today to discuss an investigation involving Tate Modern attacker Jonty Bravery.

Iain, Grace Blakeley and Nihal Arthanayake were invited on to the show by hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway to discuss Jonty, the man who pushed a young child from the Tate Mordern last year.

Grace blamed the horrific events on the lack of funding in the care industry, explaining Bravery needed better care.

Iain disagreed and attempted to get his point across but he was cut off by Grace.

When he was able to get a word in, h confessed: “If i may say so that’s nonsense”, in relation to Grace’s comments.

Iain was spoken over once gain as Grace and Nihal countered each of his points.

Hosts Ben and Kate were left gobsmacked as Iain ripped off his microphone and left the set without explanation.

Iain later announced: “Fine! I won’t speak.”

Host Kate said: “No, I want you to.”

Kate Garraway was left gobsmacked at Iain’s early exit mid-interview

Dale added: “No” before ripping off his microphone and walking off set.”

Iain’s early exit left Ben and Kate gobsmacked as well as GMB viewers.

One baffled fan asked: “Why on earth did Iain Dale just storm off?! I turned away for a second and when I turned back he was ripping of his mic and running away.”

Another added: “What the hell happened? I turned my back for 2 seconds and like magic you disappeared.”

A third penned: “Did someone just storm off like a five year old?”

A fourth said: “Iain Dale hissy fit on GMB was laughable.”

Taking to Twitter to explain the reason behind his sudden departure, Iain penned: “I enjoy my early mornings on GMB with Jacqui Smith1 because they’re all about civilised discussion. Today’s was not.

“It was about closing me down. I decided it wasn’t worth hanging around.

Apologies to Kate, Ben and Charlotte but enough is enough.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
