Honey I Shrunk The Kids star Rick Moranis has reportedly closed a deal for the movie franchise’s brand new sequel, Shrunk.
The SCTV alum, 66, is well known for starring in films such as Ghostbusters, The Flintstones and Parenthood.
According to reports he’s now set to return to screens in the next Honey, I Shrunk the Kids sequel, ‘Shrunk’.
The actor will appear in the Disney reboot of the popular family classic.
Moranis starred in the original film, which hit movie screens back in 1989.
The beloved comedy actor played a scientist, whose children discovered one of his experiments in their family home.

In the hysterical movie, the children shrink themselves by mistake, and hilarity ensues as they attempt to make themselves big again.
The franchise had a number of spin-off films, including Honey, I Blew Up the Kid, and Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves.
Movie star Rick appeared in all three films, with the star not performing in a live-action movie since 1997.
The Little Shop Of Horrors legend reportedly stepped away from performing in live action films after 1997 to focus on raising his family.
He still dabbled in the world of acting however, turning his attention to working in voiceover movies.
The beloved actor was in animated films like the Disney’s Brother Bear movies and The Animated Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie during the early noughties.

His comeback comes with his upcoming appearance in the Netflix documentary An Afternoon With SCTV.
The new documentary was taped back in 2018, with Moranis joining SCTV alums Joe Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Andrea Martin, Martin Short, and Dave Thomas.
Moranis and Thomas then proceeded to create the drunk, parka-clad Canadian duo Bob and Doug McKenzie, which were two cult characters to come out of SCTV.
