Roxette drummer Pelle Alsing has died aged 60.
The iconic Swedish rock band announced Pelle’s passing on their official Twitter account, but his cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
Per Gessle, who was part of the band Roxette alongside the late Marie Fredriksson shared the devastating news.
He posted a picture of Pelle beaming at the camera and doing a peace sign.
His statement read: “It is with sadness I inform you that our beloved Pelle Alsing has passed away.
“P was not only an amazing and inventive drummer helping us to create the Rox sound since Day 1, he was also the best friend you can imagine, a kind and generous man with the biggest heart beating for everyone.”

They continued in another online tweet: “He was always the funniest to be around, the one with the biggest smile on his face, the one who supported you the most when you were in doubt.

Pelle starred in an array of Roxette’s albums and performed live with them from the 1980s until the 2010s.
He also played with the likes of Niklas Strömstedt, Lisa Nilsson and Ulf Lundell and was in the band Ratata.
The tragic news of Pelle’s death comes one year after Roxette star Marie Fredriksson died aged 61.
Pop duo Roxette were famous for hits It Must Have Been Love, Joyride, Listen To Your Heart and The Look.
They were hugely popular, selling over 75million records globally, and achieving 19 top 40 hits.
Marie Fredriksson passed away following a long illness.
The band had to halt their 2016 tour when doctors told her she was too ill to continue.
She had battled a brain tumour in 2002 and managed to recover after undergoing treatment.
The star passed away in 2019.
