Netflix could be considering to extend popular drama The Crown beyond Princess Diana’s death in 1997 and show Prince William and Prince Harry as adults, a royal author claimed.
Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie said the hit series is confirmed to extend for two more seasons after the controversy from Season 4.
The Crown depicted Prince Charles and Princess Diana ‘s relationship in the latest season, portraying their marriage and Diana’s struggle with bulimia.
He said on podcast, Heirpod, that The Crown originally would stop before the Duke of Cambridge, 38, and the Duke of Sussex, 36, became adults.
But he detailed on last week’s episode: “There is already a lot of talk about series 5 and series 6. Season 5 and 6 have been confirmed.

“There’s even talk about the show would originally stop before William and Harry become adults.
“I have certainly heard rumblings that there is talk within Netflix about the possibility of whether the show could be extended.”
Co-host Maggie Rulli replies in disbelief: “Really? I didn’t know that.”
Omid continues: “When you think of how much controversy this current season has created, this is going to be a presence in members of the Royal Family lives for some time.

“I would imagine fighting back source quotes in British newspapers is probably not the way forward.”
The controversy also sees Camilla, 73, being portrayed as continuing to have an affair with the Prince of Wales throughout his marriage to Diana – despite historians pointing out this is inaccurate.
The fictional scenes stirred a heated debate online among royal fans since the season was released two weeks ago.
