The Dam Busters star John Fraser has died aged 89 following a battle with cancer.
His family have confirmed the news, explaining that he died peacefully in his sleep.
Fraser passed away after a year-long battle with cancer, and he is survived by his partner, artist Rodney Pienaar, 68.
The legendary actor starred in more than 20 films throughout his career which spanned decades.
These included Tunes Of Glory in 1960 and The Waltz of the Toreadors in 1962.

He first found fame when he played Flight Lieutenant J V ‘Hoppy’ Hopgood in the 1955 British war film Dam Busters.
At the time of Fraser’s stardom, homosexuality was still illegal, and as a gay man this contributed to his wishes to step out of the spotlight.
The actor is said to have began turning down roles when he “got cold feet about Hollywood” in the sixties.

He was a pin-up after Dam Busters, and was once branded the “most handsome man in Britain”.
His final role was in television series Screen One back in 1996.
Tributes have poured in for John after his death was confirmed by his beloved family.

Morris Bright, Chairman of Elstree Studios took to social media to share a tribute.
It read: “Very sad to about the death of John Fraser another actor who was a great and underrated British actor who found constant work on both sides of the Atlantic.
“Always remember him from ‘The Trials Of Oscar Wilde’.”
Actor Mark Gatiss wrote: “A very fine actor, a blistering Bosie, an outrageous memoirist and a beautiful, beautiful man. RIP John Fraser.”
