August Alsina has claimed that his relationship with Hollywood super couple Will Smith and Jada Smith isn’t “broken”.
The 27-year-old has spoken about his decision to go public about his relationship with Jada, which saw the actress and husband Will have an in-depth discussion about on her Red Table Talk podcast.
Jada and August were introduced by her son, Jaden, 22, who is a friend of the No Love singer.
Jada and August got close when the Magic Mike actress and Will were on a break.
Speaking to People, Alsina has addressed his relationship between the famous family, saying “there is a lot of love”.

“There’s a lot of love there. Sometimes [the] truth is complicated and difficult. But [my relationship with them isn’t] broken at all,” he said.
He went on to add: “I never really cared about what people thought of me, but my personal life started to seep into my business life.
“There were certain falsities about me, and it affected my business relationships. I could understand why it would look like I’m reckless or disrespectful so it really started to affect my livelihood, and I’m never okay with that.”

Alsina says his reason for going public with his relationship with Jada was due to the fact he has “three kids to look after,” making reference to his nieces, Chaylin, 14, Amaiya, 13, and Kayden, 11.
“Kill me, hate me, stone me, but bury me an honest man. All I can do is tell the truth.”
August became their legal gaurdian after his brother, Melvin was shot dead in 2010 and after their mum, Chandra passed away from cancer on Christmas Day in 2018.

Jada has previously spoken about how she met the hitmaker, saying: “It all started with him just needing some help, me wanting to help his health, his mental state.
“The outpouring for him from our family was initially about his health.
“We found all those different resources to help pull him through and from there you and I were going through a very difficult time.”
