Caroline Flack took a “small drug overdose” months before her death, an inquest heard this morning.
The 40-year-old former Love Island presenter was found dead in her home Stoke Newington, north-east London, on February 15.
Speaking during the inquest into her death in Poplar, east London, this morning, Harley Street psychiatrist Dr Brian Wells shared a statement with the court.
Mr Wells said on December 22 of last year, Flack’s management team informed him she had taken a “small drug overdose” in a London hotel.

He was told Flack had been drinking alcohol at the time of the incident.
Mr Wells recalled arriving at the hotel 30 minutes later and finding Flack in bed with friends by her side.
He claimed Flack was due to appear in court the following morning and had become “distressed”.

Earlier in the evening, the Love Island presenter reportedly began drinking and taking a “mixture of medication”.
Mr Wells added that Flack was “clearly anxious” about the impending court date.
Flack was due to stand trial for assaulting her boyfriend, former tennis player and model Lewis Burton, in December.

The former X Factor star’s family had expressed concerns about her mental health as the trial loomed.
Her partner, Mr Burton also pleaded with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to drop the case.
Flack’s management team, Money Talent Management, criticised the Crown Prosecution after her death, branding the court date as a “show trial”.
The CPS found the case had been handled “appropriately”.
