Coronation Street's Geoff alive after Yasmeen stabbing as fans 'work out' twist

Coronation Street villain Geoff Metcalfe drove his wife to breaking point on tonight’s episode, resulting in bloodshed.

After a tense confrontation in number six, he was knocked to the floor, with blood pooling around his lifeless body.

Though Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) is convinced she has killed Geoff (Ian Bartholemew) after the fray, fans had other ideas.

Taking to Twitter, viewers were certain the cruel restauranteur would survive the attack, exaggerating his injuries to frame his wife.

One wondered: “Yes Yasmeen! Although I doubt she really finished him off.”

Yasmeen feared she had murdered her husband after the act of self-defence

A second agreed: “I hope Geoff isn’t dead and they find his videos and he gets locked up and everyone knows what he’s like.”

“I reckon he’ll survive and spin lots of nonsense about her and then they’ll find the cameras/footage,” added a third.

While a fourth chimed: “He best not be dead yet though! He must be found out and shamed and punished!!!!#Corrie.”

The drama began when Geoff bullied his wife into wearing a revealing red cocktail as they headed to the pub.

The manipulative businessman had discovered Yasmeen’s plans to flee their marriage, and resorted to forceful behaviour to regain control.

During the trip to the Rover’s Return, Geoff cruelly revealed the dress was originally intended for an escort.

Returning home, tensions began to rise further when Geoff lost his temper, lashing out at Yasmeen with a torrent of abuse.

In a desperate attempt to save her life, Yasmeen reached to the kitchen counter behind and yielded an empty red wine bottle.

Smashing it against his head, Geoff was knocked to the floor – but has he survived the attack?
