Elvis Presley's grandson Benjamin Keough, 27, died by suicide coroner confirms

A coroner has ruled Benjamin Keough died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to MailOnline.

Elvis Presley’s grandson took his own life at mum Lisa-Marie Presley’s $1.8million home in the early hours of Sunday.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office reportedly ruled Keough’s death a suicide on Tuesday.

Benjamin was 27 when he died at the family’s luxury home in the exclusive area of Calabasas in California.

A neighbour reportedly heard partying at 1am on Sunday at the property before hearing a distressed woman screaming: “Don’t do it,” at around 3.30am.

The neighbour did not hear a gunshot.

According to the Mail Online, a neighbour said: “I could hear somebody speaking really loud in the backyard. I looked outside and I saw what appeared to be his girlfriend outside talking to police, and she was pretty hysterical saying, ‘I can’t believe it.’

“She just kept swearing and saying, ‘I can’t believe it, I can’t believe it.’ She was saying, ‘I can’t believe he would do that to himself.’

“She said, ‘The family’s going to hate me,’ and, ‘They’re going to blame me.’

“I think she was feeling guilty for it happening… but I don’t want to speculate what caused it.”

It is not clear if the woman was the 27-year-old’s girlfriend, however the neighbour claimed they had seen her at the home regularly and they believed that the duo had been dating for at least two years.

Lisa-Marie was not at home at the time of her son’s death.

Her spokesman said in a statement: “She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.”

Benjamin was the son of Danny Keough, who was married to Lisa-Marie.

The pair wed in 1998 but split in 1994.
