Gordon Ramsay slams 'whinging' Cornwall neighbours after isolation backlash

Kitchen Nightmare star Gordon Ramsay was delighted to receive a kind gesture of freshly grown asparagus from a Cornish local and gleefully took to social media to share the produce with his followers.

A batch of freshly grown spring veg was delivered to the TV star by a local, with a message that read: “Gordon a little gift from the fields across your house.”

Although it would seem the F word chef who is most famous for his on-screen outbursts couldn’t quite manage to withhold his sarcasm as he remarked, “now that’s what I call love thy neighbour”.

The dig arrives after the 53-year-old had been criticised for hunkering down with his wife Tanya and their offspring at their second home in Cornwall and haven’t exactly received the warmest of welcomes since arriving.

It would seem that Cornish residents were not elated with the Ramsay families choice to reside in by the coast, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

There has even been a Facebook group created, called “You Shouldn’t Be Here” which saw local folk airing their fury.

“Wealthy second homers think making a few quid means they are immune from the virus and any rules. They are arrogant at the best of times, this has shown how bad some of them are” fumed one angry member.

“He’s swanning around the shops as if nothing is wrong”, vented a second.

While a third angrily penned: “The big s*** should take himself and his family the hell out of Cornwall.”

Gordon, who is currently staying put in his £4million Cornish home with his family, took to his Instagram story to share a video of the kind offering from a local.

Speaking to his 8.5 million followers, he said: “Now what a lovely, beautiful, generous little gift.

“A little gift from the fields across your house.

“C’mon, seriously, that’s literally growing in the back of my garden.

“Now that’s what I call love thy neighbour, see!

“That’s how you look after each other in these difficult times. There you go.”

He then took a swipe at his neighbours as he wrote: “I’m sure one local will whinge about the asparagus. God bless you.”

The TV star also found himself in an altercation with a local resident during the Easter bank holiday when Gordon was caught in an argument over his parked 4×4.

According to the Mail Online, the bust-up took place near Polzeath Beach which saw a man pointing his finger at Gordon over claims about how his Land Rover Defender had been parked outside the shop.

Let’s hope for Gordon’s sake, that the latest gesture was a peace offering for better days ahead.
