Human Centipede actor Dieter Laser described as a 'force of nature' dead at 78

Human Centipede actor Dieter Laser, who played Dr Heiter in the hit film series, has died aged 78 years old.

The sad news was confirmed in a short statement posted on his official Facebook page this week.

The statement read: “We are very sorry to have to inform you that Dieter Laser passed away on February 29, 2020.”

No more information has been provided as to the star’s passing.

Laser’s standout role came in the warped horror movie Human Centipede, where he played the role of villain Dr Heiter before later appearing in the second and third films.

The film’s director Tom Six was one of the first to publicly pay tribute to the late star this week, apparently only recently aware of Laser’s death.

Six wrote on social media: “I’m totally shocked Dieter passed away.

“He was a force of nature, a unique human being and an iconic actor.

“I’m so damn proud we created pop culture together.

“Wished we could have made many more movies.

“RIP my friend, you will live forever on screen!”

Alongside his statement, Six share three pictures of himself and Dieter.

Despite only making it to Hollywood in recent years, Laser has enjoyed and impassive acting career in Germany.

He made his debut in 1968 in a TV adaptation of Peter Stein’s Bertolt Brecht’s In the Jungle of Cities.
