Jeremy Clarkson interrupts Who Wants to Be a Millionaire filming 'to go to loo'

Jeremy Clarkson found the excitement on last night’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire became too much, as he revealed he needed to use the loo during filming.

Contestant Steve landed in the hot seat after successfully winning the fastest finger round, and made it up to £32,000 before hitting a hurdle.

When a question about sport left him stumped, he turned to quiz master Jeremy for support – leaving the former Top Gear host hoping to take a quick loo break.

Interrupting filming, Jeremy clambered out of his seat, and exclaimed: “Just going to go to the lavatory.”

Thankfully, he climbed back into place moments later, deciding to take his toilet break once the cameras stopped rolling.

Moments previously, the tricky question read: “A Gurney flap is used in which sport?”

Below, the options were listed as: Rowing, Cycling, Bobsleigh and Motor Racing.

Admitting he hadn’t a clue, Steve first opted to use his “ask the audience” lifeline, though he wasn’t convinced by the audience’s guesses.

Trying his best to make it up to £64,000, he then decided to use his “ask the host” lifeline and turned to Jeremy for assistance.

Looking panicked, Jeremy admitted he suspected the answer could be “Motor Racing,” inspired by Grand Prix superstar Dan Gurney.

He said: “It’s a really hard question for £64,000 it’s like it could be an obvious thing in cycling, rowing or bobsleigh. It’s just, I know Dan Gurney raced for Ford. So yeah, that is my final answer.”

Hedging his bets, Steve replied: “Well, I’m going to take a bit of a gamble then, and I’m going to back you.”

Waiting for the right answer top pop up on the screen, Jeremy voiced his nerves, saying: “God if I get this wrong, how fast can I get out of this studio?”

The correct answer of “motor racing” suddenly lit up in green, as both Jeremy and Steve breathed a sigh of relief.

Thrilled he had got the question right, he told Steve: “Oh, that’s a terrifying place. Well, it’s worse for you, of course.”

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire airs on Tuesdays at 8pm on ITV.
