Madonna seen using crutches as she attends Black Lives Matter protest in London

Madonna was spotted using crutches as she attended a Black Lives Matter protest in Central London today.

Pictures and video of the Vogue songstress circulated Twitter as many spotted the pop icon as the march.

Madonna, 61, was seen wearing a Black Lives Matter T-shirt and dark sunglasses as she chanted with the crowds.

One video saw the US singer shouting “No peace” as others replied: “No Justice”.

The star was using crutches as she recovers from recent knee surgery.

Madonna’s appearance at the march divided opinion on the internet though.

One person moaned: “Where was she for past four years? She is no better than TikTok influencer.”

However, another replied: “Being active within a protest is better than nothing.”

Many other were in favour of the star, as one commented: “She’s done so much for the black community as a privileged white woman her whole career I love her.”

Another added: “She’s 61, in crutches, recovering from surgery. Still out there, as she always was. She didn’t wear anything fancy. She was a human being between human beings.”

Madonna has knee surgery last month after inuring herself in March when she fell on stage. She has since has relied on using a cane and knee supports.

Madonna’s appearance at the protest comes after Madonna shared a video of her son David Banda performing a dance to Michael Jackson’s They Don’t Care About Us to ‘honour’ George Floyd, the unarmed black man who was killed by a Minneapolis police officer, at the end of last month.

She wrote on Twitter alongside the clip: “Brutal murder travels around the world my son David Dances to honour and pay tribute to George and His Family and all Acts of Racism and Discrimination that happen on a daily basis in America.”

The post came with the hashtags #davidbanda #JusticeforGeorgeFloyd #MichaelJackson.
