The UK’s latest boyband, New Hope Club, are no strangers to crowds of fans swooning for them since finding fame on Music.ly and touring with The Vamps.
Since being catapulted into the spotlight, Reece Bibby, George Smith and Blake Richardson have gone on to achieve a Number 5 debut album and sell-out tours across the globe.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online, guitarist and singer George Smith revealed that the group are working on a follow-up album, as well as touring the UK in August and September.
George, 21, shared: “Ever since we submitted the album in December, we’ve been writing songs the whole time,
“We loved the first album but we wouldn’t be doing ourselves proud if we didn’t try and better it.”
The group have been using video calling apps such as Zoom to write with one another as Reece and Blake isolate with their families in the north and George with his family in the south.
“We’ve been working hard and since this lockdown, we’ve been doing loads of sessions with different people on Zoom and writing, we’re super excited – we cannot wait for the second album,” George continued.
“We don’t have a time limit for it yet but in due time we will release a cluster of songs.”
The video for their single Worse features the cast of Wizards of Waverly Place, as well as Maddie Ziegler who famously dances for Sia.
Chatting about how the group managed to get huge names to take part, George revealed it was, in fact, Blake’s girlfriend, US actress Bailee Madison who was responsible.
“Bailee was in Wizards of Waverly Place and Bailee directed the music video, so she got in touch with them and got them in it.”
He added: “Bailee knows her [Maddie Ziegler], it’s so awesome that she took the time out to come down and actually be a part of something that we love.”
Revealing that the group plan on touring in August and September, George continued: “We want to come back with a bang, it should be seen as more of a celebration, we’ve all come through such hard times – we want to make it as big, as fun and as safe as possible.
“We want everyone to forget everything that has happened this year, that’s bad.”
