Our Girl fans rage over 'lack of explanation' amid cast shake-up

Our Girl was back tonight for a fourth series, but viewers were raging after the cast was changed without an explanation.

Michelle Keegan was back on the popular BBC drama as Georgie Lane, but viewers were furious that there was no explanation as to why Captain James and some of the other old cast were missing.

They flooded Twitter, raging at the cast shake-up.

One said: “Not being funny or anything but where the F*** is Captain James, Rav and Maisie??? f***ing cant believe they’ve gone with no recognition.”

While another fumed: “Don’t think I’m liking this new cast on Our Girl.”

A third moaned: “Will we get an explanation as to what happened to Captain James, Brains & Richards?”

“What on Earth happened on the last episode of season 3? Like they just jumped but now we’ve moved on without any explanation??”

Michelle Keegan was on This Morning earlier today, and when Phillip Schofield asked her when the new series would start, she said it would jump into the future, without explanation.

Phil asked her in their video call interview: “So at the end of the last series they’re on the edge of a clip, there’s a drug cartel coming after them, they’re in a massive shootout and the only way is down and we don’t see them jump?”

Michelle replied: “No, and the thing is, you don’t know who survived because it’s not touched upon, it’s like moved on down the line…

“She’s got a promotion now, she’s a sergeant.”

Our Girl continues next Tuesday at 9pm on BBC1
