Paul O’Grady’s pet dog Boycie has sadly died, as the TV favourite rests at home during the coronavirus lockdown.
The devastating news was confirmed over social media this morning.
His radio co-star Malcolm Prince broke the tragic news over Twitter, sharing a photo of Paul, 64, with his arm wrapped around his beloved pooch.
Malcolm said: “A message from Paul… Sadly, he had to say goodbye to Boycie today.
“He asked me to share this photo #TeamPOG #paulogrady #FarewellBoycie.”
Described as a “smashing fella,” Boycie was a Bischon and ShiTzu mix, who was said to have reminded Paul of his late pet pooch Bullseye.
Paul is famously a huge animal lover, hosting several TV series about his fondness for pet cats and dogs over the years.
His TV series Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs has been running since 2012, visiting the adorable pooches available for adoption in Battersea Dogs’ Home.
Paul has also presented shows like Animal Orphans and For the Love of Dogs India in the past.

The news of Boycie’s death comes after Paul announced he suffered from coronavirus but “just got on with it” without getting tested.
Paul recovered from the illness in his Kent home, with his dancer husband Andre Portasio and beloved dogs by his side.
Opening up about his symptoms in conversation with Gaby Roslin on BBC, he said: “Last week I had flu-like symptoms.

“I didn’t have the cough bad. I certainly didn’t have the temperature or anything like that, so I just got on with it.
“That was when the heating had gone so it was minus two down here and freezing and I thought someone had got it in for me. I’m fine now.”
