Phillip Schofield and family surprise wife with sweet 56th birthday celebration

Phillip Schofield ‘s family were not going to let the coronavirus crisis stand between them and celebrating Stephanie Schofield’s special day in style.

The nation’s favourite host and his two daughters Molly, 27, and Ruby, 24, didn’t want Stephanie’s day to be spoiled by Covid-19 and certainly pulled out all of the stops to put on a lavish spread to mark the special occasion.

In a team effort, they decorated the house with stylish balloons and even poured out four champagne flutes of Bucks fizz.

Staying home all day on lockdown didn’t seem to bother the Schofields as Phil’s daughters took to Instagram to share the loving moment with friends and fans.

Although Phil and his family are self-isolating and staying at home, Phil and co-host Holly Willoughby announced that This Morning will continue as normal.

Addressing viewers, Holly began to explain why This Morning was continuing to air while other shows were coming to a halt as the pandemic wreaks havoc across the UK and rest of the globe.

The blonde beauty said: “Lets start by explaining, probably actually for the first time ever, why we are here today.”

It was explained that Holly and Phil were now considered to be key workers after the government considered their show to be an “essential service” due to it’s important content.

Phillip added: “The government has classed us as an essential service for the time being to bring you the latest news on the virus.

“To answer your concerns with our doctors, to offer useful advice and to hopefully lighten the load as only This Morning knows how.”

The pair reassured spectators that they had cut down on behind-the-scenes staff to prevent the spread of the virus on set.

Holly added: “We’ve got a plan of what we’re doing today, but honestly that plan can go out of the window. If there’s anything that you’re watching, or you’ve seen something, or you’ve got any concerns, please get in touch.

“We’ve got experts, if they’re not in here we can contact them. We can put your questions to them and find out. We’re here for you so use us in the best possible way.”

Phil echoed his co-presenter, telling fans of the show: “We’re a pretty flexible show at the best of times, but we’ve never been more flexible than we are now.”
