Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan has been asking viewers to pray for Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s recovery from coronavirus.
After being admitted to St Thomas’ Hospital in London, he was taken to the intensive care unit last night after his condition worsened.
Piers told viewers to get behind the PM with an impassioned speech, but viewers couldn’t help noticing that he had been persistently coughing throughout the start of the show.
They took to social media to point out Piers’ cough, as one posted: “Piers Morgan looks ill.”
Another wrote on Twitter: “Morning guys. Is Piers okay? His eyes are red and he seems to have a cough of some kind. #StaySafe.”
A third chipped in: “I think Piers has got Covid19 he has coughed about 10 times so far.”
Piers didn’t mention anything about his cough, but it had cleared up after the advert breaks.
He said about Boris earlier in the show: “It was an extraordinary night last night. There must have been complete panic in Downing Street.
“Everyone has got to rally behind him now, no matter what you think about him he is fighting for his life, on a human level everyone has got to rally behind him.
“They would’t have given him one of those beds unless it was serious, that in itself is alarming.”
The TV host also slammed the trolls who hadn’t been wishing Boris well in his recovery, saying: “I just want to say also to those people on social media who can’t find it in themselves to be positive for the prime minister, if you are of that mindset just shut up.
“Nobody wants to hear trolling against Boris Johnson.”

Later, Piers confirmed he isn’t ill as a fan asked him if he was okay after hearing him cough on the show.
He replied to the person: “All good thanks Elizabeth, just clearing my throat after a fairly sleepless night.”
