Robbie Williams slates Beady Eye and reignites feud with Liam Gallagher

Robbie Williams has reignited his feud with Liam Gallagher after he slagged off the singer’s former band Beady Eye.

The pair have been locked in a long-running feud since the nineties, and the pair’s rivalry reached fever pitch when the Angels hitmaker challenged Liam to a boxing match during his acceptance speech at the Brits in 2000s.

During a recent interview, Robbie once again took a playful pop at the former Oasis frontman, admitting his estranged brother Noel is more well known worldwide.

Speaking on Chris Thrall’s Bought The T-Shirt podcast, he said: “It’s not true that [Noel’s] massive in America, he’s just done well.

“Liam isn’t one of the biggest stars worldwide.”

The Wall of Glass hitmaker formed Beady Eye shortly after Oasis disbanded, but Robbie admitted their tracks “weren’t very good”.

He added: “Liam did Beady Eye and, to be honest with you, the songs weren’t very good. It’s as simple as that. The idea and concept of that whole thing wasn’t very good.”

And the British singer insisted that Oasis weren’t as succesful aboard as they were on British soil, explaining: “We see our UK prism with our celebrities as, ‘Well, this must be happening worldwide because it’s happening here.’

“It’s not happening outside of the UK…Oasis had a decent career in America, not a massive career.”

However, despite their rivalry, Robbie soon heaped praise on the Mancunian musician, confessing that he’s managed to carve out a successful solo career.

“I know that we have beef and all that but then Liam did a solo career, and I think people wanted him to have that solo career.

“He went and worked with proper songwriters that do songwriting for a living, that craft verses, choruses and middle eights really, really well. He writes a great lyric, he does great melodies and he is the voice of a generation.”

Liam and Robbie famously fell out after Noel dubbed the father-of-four “the fat dancer from Take That,” and the duo have yet to bury the hatchet.
