The Chase's Paul Sinha brands contestant 'dull' in brutal swipe

The Chase’s Paul Sinha is famous for two things – quizzing and comedy.

The ITV star’s world’s collided on tonight’s episode of The Chase, as he directed a cutting wisecrack at one of the contestants.

When player Paul, who brews his own beer, stepped up to the plate, Chaser Paul had a biting joke up his sleeve.

Branding Paul as “dull,” he suggested the opening minutes of the show had left him feeling bored.

The Sinnerman said: “What a slightly dull start to the game that was.

“You didn’t get anything difficult right, you didn’t get anything easy wrong.”

Softening the blow, The Chaser added: “But I think you’re better than that, actually I think you’re a lot better than that.

“But I would say that – I would like some free beer samples.”

Contestant Paul cracked back: “If I would have known earlier I could have brought some along!”

Later, he took another swipe, as he suggested the player wasn’t brainy enough to accept the high offer.

Paul Sinha said: “I don’t think you’re good enough to take this, £28,000.”

Luckily, Paul didn’t take the insult to heart, and instead readied himself to tackle the second round of the competition.

The other contestants were also in the firing line, as Paul Sinha swiped: “I’m going to make a confident prediction here today, I think all four will go middle.”

However, The Sinnerman was forced to eat his words as the competition played out, and three contestants remained in the final.

Ever the professional, Paul managed to knock all three finalists out with 15 seconds remaining, answering 18 questions correctly in a row.

Praising the trio, he declared they were simply “unlucky” after the loss.

The Chase airs on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
