US star Halsey 'shot at and gassed by police' during Black Lives Matter protest

Pop superstar Halsey has taken to Twitter to beg her fans to stand up and let their voices heard as Black Lives Matter protests sweep the globe after the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis by a cop earlier this week.

The Without Me songstress took to Twitter to post videos and pictures from the streets of LA where she is believed to be protesting.

In one tweet to her 12 million followers on May 31, US star Halsey uploaded four images of American police in riot gear.

She captioned the post: “Fired rubber bullets at us.

“We did not breach the line. hands were up. unmoving. and they gassed and fired.”

As rumours spread the songstress was arrested Halsey took to social media again to clarify the confusing situation.

G-Eazy’s ex wrote: “I WAS NOT ARRESTED.

“I’m safe. There were people I had to get to safety as many of them have VISAs.

“Myself and many of my peers were shot, gassed and antagonised.

“The frontline was calm and did not provoke BUT MANY ARE NOT SAFE and MANY ARE IN CUSTODY.”

She signed off the post by calling for fans to donate money to bail organisations to help free those taken into custody by police.

Halsey is believed to have put $100,000 (£81,000) of her own money to various organisations to help the Black Lives Matter campaign.

Directly accusing The President of the United States partly accountable for the havoc stretching across America, the starlet added: “Black violence began millenniums before Trump but you can’t deny that having a president in office using that kind of rhetoric and parading his blatant prejudice is amplifying the issue and making people likeminded feel safe or protected or validated in their hatred.”
