The singer explained: “I cancelled my holiday on #BoxingDay .. it was hard. But I was flying with a negative test and everything was in place for a safe holiday with my family.”

Amanda went on to criticise the government’s handling of the Covid pandemic, pointing out testing for those arriving in the UK was only brought in recently.

She went on: “WHY THEN, ARE THE UK ONLY JUST making the decision to test for covid for people coming into our country ?? We’ve all sacrificed so much in different ways .. most of us have been responsible.”

Amanda also praised the nation for their resilience in following Covid guidelines and staying strong throughout the pandemic, highlighting the sacrifices that had been made.

She said people had so much “goodwill and respect for each other” and “joined together and marched on through this”.

“Why has it taken us so long? No one seems to have an answer… or be questioning it?!!”
