Coronation Street star Sally Carman found out the hard way that performing stunts isn’t as glam as it seems.
In theory, the Abi actress loved the idea of running around Weatherfield doing stunts with a gun like a glamorous Bond Girl.
However, when she came to film the scenes, she ended up spending most of her time freezing in a water tank.
Fans will see her character Abi Franklin return to Weatherfield branding a gun next week and out for revenge against evil Corey Brent – the teen who walked free from court despite being guilty of killing her son Seb.
But their face-off takes a dramatic twist when a violent storm strikes and the pair plummet down a sink hole into a watery sewer.
Sally joked: “When I saw what they had planned for me I couldn’t wait to get started.
“But there is no Bond Girl and there is no James Bond element either.
“We started off on Monday and finished on Sunday,
She added: “By Tuesday I was like ‘I can’t do this’. It was so cold and we were permanently wet.”
The biggest stunt for her was when she and Maximus Evans had to fall through a trap door – to make it look like they were plummeting down a sink hole into a sewer.
She added: “It was phenomenal. You dropped through onto these piles of cardboard boxes.
”As soon as that was over I was like “I am not doing that again. Luckily they got what they needed in that one shot. But it pushed me to my limits.”
Hopefully it will all have been worth it when the dramatic scenes finally air.
Fans have been following the storyline closely, and Sally’s hard work will definitely pay off.
