Davina McCall 'doesn't care' about viewer fury over skimpy Masked Singer dresses

Masked Singer judge Davina McCall has said that she doesn’t care about the backlash she faces from wearing racy outfits while starring on the ITV show that makes a comeback next week on New Year’s Day.

In her fifties, she has claimed that she is ready to stop “giving a damn,” something that comes after the former face of Big Brother faced social media backlash for some of her outfit choices when she appeared on the show in early 2021.

The 54-year-old TV star has spoken about “shedding the shackles of inhibition” while speaking out in an interview with Women’s Health UK.

Speaking to the empowering publication, Davina explained that she’s entering a phase of “liberation”.

Explaining herself, she said that the shift in mindset isn’t occurring because she’s a TV star, nor is it because she’s a “show-off”.

“It’s that I don’t really care what people think, which is very liberating,” she boasted.

When The Masked Singer aired earlier on in the year, social media users were questioning her outfit choices – something which led to the TV star having to defend her wardrobe.

One outfit in particular made fans question her clothing selections. A white low-cut dress with a thigh-high split.

In an interview with The Sun, Davina said that some people will “complain about anything,” adding: “I have a line where I think, ‘I wouldn’t wear that, that’s too risky, or I don’t feel comfortable in it’.

“I just don’t think any of the outfits that I was wearing were that shocking. I didn’t think they were outrageous…”

She continued: “There’s always going to be a few people that complain about anything, about everything.

“Social media is so brilliant in so many ways, but it can be so destructive too.”

She then went on to open up about her mental and emotional health, revealing that she’s had “no drama, no stress” and that she’s in a “really good, happy and balanced state.”

Davina also said that she’s got “nothing to complain about.”
