Eamonn Holmes slams unnamed 'difficult people' working in TV after axe

This Morning ‘s Eamonn Holmes has knocked certain unnamed personalities in TV as he dubbed them “difficult people who don’t understand it”.

The 61-year-old, whose Friday spot on the show with his wife Ruth Langsford comes to an end on January 8, was happy to voice his opinions on the behind-the-scenes on TV.

Eamonn, who will still present beside his wife during the school holidays when main hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby take their break, also made a jibe at presenters who ignore their guests when off-camera.

It comes after he and Ruth were replaced by presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

While making an appearance on the Talking Success podcast, Eamonn said: “Television is the easiest thing you’ll ever do in your life, made difficult by people who don’t understand it or who want to seem important because if they suddenly say, ‘No, no, no’ they’re important.

“It never ceases to amaze me how few interviewers take the time to talk to their guests.

“Some will say you don’t want to shatter the illusion or you want to keep the interview fresh.”

Eamonn and Ruth bid farewell to viewers at the end of the year

Eamonn finished his rant by saying: “Believe me, I can feign fresh.”

It comes after the star said he was busy and “had things to do” after they were axed.

In December, he took to his own social media platform today to share an emotional message with his fans from the comfort of his home which he shares with Ruth.

Filming himself while in his lounge in a black T-shirt, Eamonn kicked off his chat by saying he had a message from “the bottom of my heart”.

He told the camera: “Hello everyone – I just wanted to say something to you from the bottom of my heart.

“Ruth and I have been overwhelmed yesterday and today by the amount of messages – and we’ll be replying via social media, by emails, by texts, by Whatsapp, whatever way we can.

“But can I just generally say thank you, thank you, thank you. We do feel the love, really appreciate it but stop it, stop it now.

“It’s Christmas time, mistletoe and wine. We’ve all got things to do, so thank you.”
