EastEnders viewers were left horrified as Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) dressed up Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) as his late wife Chantelle.
Gray informed Whitney that he had a dinner event but that he didn’t feel comfortable going on his own.
Whitney kindly agreed to accompany the scheming solicitor to the glitzy bash but pointed out that she didn’t have anything fancy to wear.
Gray told Whitney to leave her outfit dilemma with him and he later gave her one of Chantelle’s show-stopping dresses.
Viewers at home were left disgusted over Gray’s behaviour and are convinced that he’s trying to transform his children’s babysitter into his wife.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Gray forcing Whitney to wear Chantelle’s dress.”
Another added: “Gray dressing Whitney in Chantelle’s clothes is beyond sick.”
A third person posted: “Gray dressing up Whitney in Chantelle’s dress, creepy isn’t even the word. He wants to mould Whitney into the perfect little housewife and be just as compliant as Chantelle was.”
While a fourth viewer said: “Gray dressing Whitney up as the wife he murdered, she needs to run for the hills.”
“OMG Gray’s actually dressing Whitney up as his dead Wife now now really?” a fifth fan wrote.
Kush Kazemi (David Ghadami) complimented his girlfriend as she posed in front of the mirror wearing the stunning dress.
He said: “It’s a nice dress.”
After a long pause, Whitney replied: “Gray give it to me.”
Kush asked: “Is it Chantelle’s?”
“Yeah it feels a bit weird,” she said.
Kush added: “Understatement of the year.”
Whitney hit back: “Don’t make me feel worse than I already do.”
Trying to comfort his girlfriend, Kush said: “It’s Gray who should be feeling bad. He’s dressing you in his dead wife’s clothes.”
Whitney added: “He’s heartbroken. I just feel like I can’t let him go on his own.”
Things took another sinister turn as Gray told Whitney to wear Chantelle’s gold bracelet to finish off the outfit.
At the event, Gray’s boss questioned his relationship with Whitney, who he previously represented in a murder trial.
