The nominees for this year’s Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) Awards have been announced, which include some of the nation’s favourite TV and Radio personalities.
Viewers can look forward to 18 awards being presented on the night with some of the biggest names in showbiz being up for one featuring Ant and Dec, Alison Hammond and ex GMB star Piers Morgan.
The prestigious awards night will take place at a lavish ceremony in Central London on Weds 15th September and will celebrate its 52 years in running.
The awards will be presented in front of an invite-only audience of over 250 guests and for the first time – fans at home will be able to watch all the action over a free live stream link.
Thousands of votes cast by members of the public and industry experts have led to this year’s shortlist containing some of the biggest names in the broadcasting sector.
In the TV Personality category, double act Ant & Dec are up against The Chase’s Bradley Walsh and This Morning’s Alison Hammond.
The men from this category then go head-to-head again in the Entertainment category with Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad and Gogglebox all hoping for a win.
The News Presenter award is a three-way battle between Huw Edwards and former GMB colleagues Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.
Call The Midwife, The Crown and Killing Eve will fight it out in the Drama category, while the New Drama award has Des, Gangs Of London and Bridgerton in the race.
In the Comedy segment, it’s predicted to be a close call between After Life, Sex Education and Would I Lie To You?
Elsewhere, the Sports category will be between A League Of Their Own taking on A Question of Sport and Match Of The Day.
