Holly Willoughby has taken a walk down memory to pay tribute to Delays frontman Greg Gilbert.
The 44-year-old singer explained earlier this week that his cancer treatment had now come to end, explaining that his future was “uncertain”.
In the emotional Twitter post, the father-of-two added that he was “being treated solely for pain relief”.
Greg, who was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer in 2016, described his nurses as “angels” in the heartfelt post.
Wanting to pay special thanks to Greg, Holly explained that the “band would always have a place in her heart”.
Sharing a short clip of one of her favourite songs, the This Morning presenter wrote: “I remember @saraheawood introducing me to this band and their sound filled my head and soul…
“They kindly agreed to come on Ministry of Mayhem and I got a front row seat…
“Love this band they will always have a place in my heart… huge love especially to you @greggilbert_artist.”
The TV star signed off: “If you would like to make a donation to the Countess Mountbatten hospice can you swipe up…”
Earlier this week Greg took to his online platform to confirm he was being treated at Mountbatten Hampshire hospice near Southampton.
Updating friends, family and loved ones he penned an emotional tweet that he “never thought he’d have to write”.
It read: “This isn’t a post I ever thought I’d have to write but it suddenly seems necessary.
“The pains are mostly under control and the nurses here are nothing less than angels.
“But I’m now in an uncertain future where I don’t know how long I have and what the days will look like.
“I still believe in magic, the power of a good gesture and laughter.
“I want to fill the days ahead with all of these and so much more.”
