I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here contestant Richard Madeley previously revealed that he goes commando, claiming to not have worn boxers for ‘decades’.
Back in November 2018, Richard Madeley was co-hosting Good Morning Britain with regular fixture Kate Garraway, when he dropped a very revealing bombshell that left viewers of the popular breakfast show with their jaws on the floor.
Kate Garraway asked Richard: “I thought you went commando?”
Richard admitted: “I haven’t worn boxer shorts for decades. It’s much more comfortable,’ before warning: ‘I do shower regularly.”
Richard then asked news reporter Charlotte Hawkins if her granny pants would cause her to take longer in the bathroom.
Speaking to the news reporter, he asked: “Can I ask a slightly indelicate question… well, it’s not really as we all have bodily functions and everything… In the last commercial break I went to the loo, if you’d have gone would you have come back in time?”
Charlotte then said: “Yeah. Some of them are a bit more convoluted.”
Then a few months down the line in April 2019, the then-62-year-old host made the revelation during a segment of the show discussed a report that claimed 80 per cent of men keep their underwear for 10 years.
Richard was asked about his underwear washing regime, to which he replied: “No. I have been [commando] forever. I can’t remember the last time I wore pants.”
News reporter, Charlotte then asked: “Are you not worried you might split your trousers when you’re out and about?”
Richard admitted that one of the most embarrassing moments of his career was when he experienced fake tan blunder a week prior, but said: “I could have walked around with my flies undone. That could have been seriously embarrassing.”
However, when he entered the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! castle, Richard had no concerns regarding a risk of embarrassment and owned each challenge as he smashed through the series.
Unfortunately, following Richard falling ill briefly and needing to go to hospital, the star was forced to drop out due to breaking the Covid-19 bubble.
