I'm A Celeb stars to face 'intense' medical survey and be quizzed on alcohol

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! stars will reportedly face scrutiny by show bosses who will grill them with an intense medical survey while also looking into alcohol dependency.

The ITV series is gearing up to start on November 21 and will see a star-studded lineup travel to Wales for this year’s show.

According to The Sun, the cast has been asked to reveal how much booze they drink and give full details on any medication they may take.

This is so executives can assess their suitability for the show and minimise walk-outs like in previous years.

Producers have allegedly been probing the stars for any details of medical conditions like night terrors, vertigo, sleepwalking and general phobias that could restrict them in challenges and tasks.

It’s also claimed the bosses are keen to avoid a repeat of Gemma Collins’ meltdown, where she left after just a few days.

So going forward, contestants will be required to pass a psychological test if they want to enjoy a stint in the Welsh castle.

Speaking to the publication, an ITV source explained that producers must be sure that a contestant is “physically and mentally fit” before signing them up.

The insider said: “And that includes knowing if someone is alcohol dependent or on pills for ailments – physical and psychological.

“It is, after all, an entertainment show and there’s no point signing up someone who won’t cut the mustard because they can’t perform any of the tasks.”

ITV had no comment when the publication approached them with the source’s quotes.

This comes after Most Haunted star Yvette Fielding, a contestant in the 2015 series of the show, said that the I’m A Celeb Gwyrch Castle in Wales is “100% haunted”.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Yvette explained: “Wales is a hotbed for paranormal activity.

“They have the most amazing ghost stories, and I don’t know what it is – whether there are lots of converging lay lines – but there seems to be this amazing whirlwind of energy.

“The castle that they’re staying in is definitely haunted, 100%! I’d love to get my hands on it and spend the night there myself, but I wouldn’t wanna be with other celebrities – only the nice ones!”
