Katie Price’s eldest son Harvey has been accepted into his first choice of residential college and plans to move out of her home in less than two weeks.
Costing upwards of £350,000 a year, Harvey will be attending the National Star College which the pair visited during their production of her highly-praised BBC documentary Harvey & Me.
The 43-year-old mum previously shared her concerns with her first born living three hours away from her, but the college allows him the opportunity to gain independence which he couldn’t get elsewhere.
The 19-year-old will start his studies this September and he is eligible for government funding due to his highly complex needs.
A source told The Sun: “Harvey has been accepted into the National Star College.
“She had her heart set on the college since they visited in her BBC documentary Harvey & Me.”
The Daily Star has contacted a Katie’s representatives for a further comment.
The doting mum spent six months with Harvey visiting colleges for individuals with autism and learning difficulties to find the perfect spot for her son as he prepares to move onto the next stage in his life.
Harvey was born with ADHA, autism, a genetic condition called Prader-Willi Syndrome in addition to septo-optic dysplasia which can cause blindness.
The mum-of-five recently admitted it would be “hard to let go” of Harvey but knows it’s the best thing to do for him.
She told The Sun: “It’s so upsetting to think I won’t see him every day but this is the best thing for Harvey and we have to think positively because I don’t want him to think I’m just getting rid of him.
“I need to learn to let go but it’s tough – anyone in my position knows how hard it is. We have an incredible bond. I don’t know how Harvey will react or how he’ll feel when I can’t get to him. It’s too painful to think about.
“When he’s three hours away it will break my heart because I won’t be able to get there as I’ve got to juggle him with my other kids.”
Katie is also mum to her son Junior, 16 and daughter Princess, 14, who she shares with her ex-husband Peter Andre, as well as her eight-year-old son Jett and seven-year-old Bunny who she also shared with her ex-Kieran Hayler.
