Meghan Markle has taken another hit as the cast of a popular Australian comedy show has poked fun of her relationship with the Royal Family.
Have You Been Paying Attention comedian Fifi Box took a swipe at the rising tensions between the Sussexes and Queen Elizabeth II.
On Monday, the host of the TV show Tom Gleisner played a video of the Queen’s welcome speech at the recent United Nations Climate Change Conference.
Her Royal Highness can be heard saying how “proud” she is of her family but host Tom asked the panellists: “Proud of who?”
Fifi was the quickest to the buzzer, replying: “Meghan Markle trolls.”
The audience burst into laughter at the remark as Tom jokingly responded: “She’s unleashed them!”
Ed Kavalee finally gave the correct answer, explaining: “Well, this was spicy, because she thanked Prince Charles and then Prince William for their efforts in conservation, but didn’t thank Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.”
The comedy TV programme is the most popular panel show in Australia and is considered similar as Britain’s Mock the Week.
The Queen did not mention Harry in her speech at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, despite him saying in May that climate change is one of “the most pressing issues we are facing.”
More recently, the duke hosted Global Citizens Live in New York City where he discussed climate change.
Her Majesty praised her son and grandson as well as her late husband Prince Philip who died in April this year.
The 95-year-old monarch said in her address: “It is a source of great pride to me that the leading role my husband paid in encouraging people to protect our fragile planet lives on through the work of our eldest son Charles and his eldest son William.
“I could not be more proud of them.”
