Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague knew she had to move out within minutes of discovering her beloved home had been ransacked in a burglary.
Crooks broke in and nicked £800,000 worth of possessions from her £1.3m Cheshire apartment, shared with pro boxer boyfriend Tommy Fury, in October.
The social media influencer, 22, was at a business meeting in London when she got the call saying thieves had taken everything.
She described her “safe haven” being snatched away as the “hardest thing to deal with” rather than financial loss.
Molly-Mae said: “It wasn’t the materialist things that were taken. It wasn’t all the possessions that were gone. It wasn’t them violating us. It was ransacked.
“But it wasn’t any of that. I knew the second we found out – we were at a meeting in London when we got the call – and I knew the minute I found out that we were going to have to leave.
“That was the most heart-breaking thing for me. To be forced out of your home that you love so much and that you weren’t ready to leave anytime soon, it was awful.
“Once those emotions are tampered with and once they’re spoilt, it’s gone. It’s just bricks and mortar then. It’s not a special place anymore.
“Out of everything that happened, that’s what I’ve been finding hard to deal with. When I drive past it, it’s heart-breaking. How quickly things can change.
“In just a few hours, everything had changed. I was in a meeting about something really exciting in London. Next thing you know – ‘your house has been ransacked, everything’s been taken. You need to come home right away’.
“I just didn’t know what to expect. I expected the worst and it’s a good job I did because it was bad. Everything gone.”
The Pretty Little Thing creative director was busy making sure the couple were okay and sorting insurance while laid-back Tommy, also 22, who is shrewd with his money and doesn’t buy much, tried to reassure her it would be fine.
Molly-Mae says she was left with “no choice” but to scale back on opening up her lavish life to fans on social media – only posting “smidgens” and not giving a tour of her new house.
She is now spending a fortune on 24/7 close protection security but says “there is no price on feeling safe”.
Molly-Mae also doesn’t really wear jewellery anymore and won’t even let delivery drivers or beauty technicians know where she lives.
She told the Diary of a CEO podcast: “I love sharing everything but if that’s going to compromise my safety, then it’s not fair. It’s really hard and I’m now trying to work on this new balance of sharing but not oversharing so that I make me and Tommy not safe anymore.
“It’s finding this new way of living and having close protection security now and moving and making sure not even my nail tech comes to my house because I can’t have anybody coming to my house.
“Even Deliveroo, no, can’t. It’s not possible. It’s just not safe. Because it takes one wrong person to know where you live.
“I will say that, it’s not a positive thing what happened, but maybe it needed to happen in order to make me learn how I need to be now.
“I can’t just be that normal girl that’s blas and posts everything on her socials. We need to be better in order to protect myself and Tommy. Unfortunately it’s sad but that’s just the way it’s got to be now and everything’s got to change.

“It’s taught us how we need to be now. I actually have close protection security and I’m trying to get used to that. It’s 24/7. It’s just mad having to put these precautions in place.
“I don’t really wear my jewellery anymore – what I have left of it. I’m not wearing it. It made me realise that it just doesn’t really matter.
“People are just so cruel and they are jealous. It changed things for me and took that superficial-ness away. It just made me realise that these things aren’t important. Your health, happiness and safety is key.”
