Hellraiser and High Flying Birds frontman Noel Gallagher has revealed which of his celebrity pals can go the distance on a big night out and which ones are, in fact, lightweights.
The 54-year-old was on the airwaves for the Radio X Residency recently with his mate Matt Morgan when a listener called in to ask the former Oasis star to dish who the real party animals in his circle were and which friends just claimed to be.
The caller, from Pontefract in Yorkshire, enquired who would be considered a “top slurper”.
Initially, Noel seemed reluctant to name names and just said: “What you find is over the years actors have to keep it low key because the job they’re in requires so much investment – a studio isn’t going to invest in a raging party animal.
“Actors you’ll find lead the double life.”
But the dad-of-three went on to confess what his friend Matt Smith was like after a few too many.
Noel said: “Matt can hold his own, but tends boot furniture over – he turns at about 3 or 4 in the morning.
“He’s been round my house a few times and he supports Blackburn Rovers and a couple of times he’s just drifted off and then just shouted ‘Rovers!’
“He’s turned furniture over in my house. Not in a violent way…a bit of comedy.”
Meanwhile, Noel’s friend Matthew McConaughey is “one of the most far-out people he’s ever met” and “very funny” and singer Bono can “put a shift in, no messing” because he is Irish, apparently.
When Matt asked who was a booze monster publicly but in reality a lightweight, Noel said straightaway: “Our kid” and called him a “a bit of a charlatan”.
He added: “A lot of them in the game can’t walk it like they talk it and Americans don’t really know how to do it.
“Except Woody Harrelson, he’s a warrior.”
Noel went on to contemplate who was an unexpected tearaway and recalled an awards ceremony where he went out after and the lead singer from The Kooks, Luke Pritchard, joined his entourage and managed to “stay the distance”.
Noel then joked he hasn’t seen him since so “he may well be dead”.
He also remembered that the bass player from The Vaccines got caught up in a night out with him and “still goes on about it”.
When asked about Chris Martin, Noel said he doesn’t think that he even drinks, the that the Coldplay singer is “more into nuts and seeds”.

Noel, who is married to Sara MacDonald, finished by stating that there are “lots of fakers in the music business as it’s built on fakeness”.
He added: “Most people are the opposite of what you think but there are a chosen few” while gesturing to himself.
