The only child of late Hollywood actor Paul Walker, model and social media star Meadow Rain Walker captured the hearts of the world after her dad was tragically killed in a high-speed car accident in 2013.
Raised in Hawaii with her mother during her childhood years, Meadow watched her father forge one of Hollywood’s most successful movie franchises – The Fast and the Furious – and ultimately decided to relocate to California and begin building her own life and career with her famous dad.
Though not much is known about the young star’s personal life, Meadow has used her platform to promote multiple philanthropic ventures in the name of her late dad and undertake a $1million lawsuit in a bid to seek justice for his tragic death.
As she turns 23, the life of Meadow Rain Walker has been nothing short of a rollercoaster – let’s take a look at her amazing journey…
Tragic loss
Meadow’s father, beloved Hollywood actor Paul Walker, died in 2013 alongside his friend Roger Rodas, who was behind the wheel when a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT they driving were in slammed into a pole and erupted into flames in Los Angeles.
At the age of just 16, Meadow filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche in 2015 alleging that the car Paul was riding in that day had a faulty engine and there were issues with the seatbelts, leaving Paul and Roger stuck in the car for a minute and 20 seconds after the crash.
Their bodies were burned beyond recognition.
The lawsuit stated that the car “lacked safety features that could have prevented the accident or, at a minimum, allowed Paul Walker to survive the crash”.
Meadow and Porsche reached a resolution in her wrongful death lawsuit for an undisclosed amount two years later.
Career and Philanthropy
Meadow began her modelling career in 2017 when she signed with Women Management and graced the catwalk with her youthful good looks.
In 2021, she signed with DNA Model Management and has since appeared in a string of high-profile fashion shows including the coveted Givenchy show alongside fellow models Bella Hadid and Jourdan Dunn.
In 2015, Meadow used her $25million inheritance to launch the Paul Walker Foundation to continue her dad’s passion for philanthropy.
Dad Paul, who died at the age of 40, founded the humanitarian aid non-profit charity Reach Out Worldwide with friend Roger Rodas in response to the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
Paul travelled to a number of disaster-stricken areas to supply aid until his death.
Meadow has since written that she is excited to be carrying on his legacy.
“One of the key ways she plans to meet this challenge is by helping ocean leaders of tomorrow become beacons in the fight to protect our oceans, wildlife, and ourselves,” reads a statement on the foundation’s website.
Meadow is also a global ambassador for sexual assault survivors group Everyone’s Invited and works with charity Pencils of Promise to raise money for Ghanian schools.
Sweet marriage
Paul shares Meadow with school teacher Rebecca Soteros, with the pair’s relationship believed to be short-lived.
Meadow spent her childhood in Hawaii with her mother until the age of 13, until she relocated to be with her father in California.
Not much is known about her relationship with her mother though it is believed the pair are close and she now works as a teacher in Los Angeles.
The 23-year-old model tied the knot in an intimate beach wedding ceremony to Louis Thornton-Allan in October 2021.
In a one-minute video posted to Instagram, Meadow is seen in her gown embracing loved ones and chatting with her late father’s Fast and the Furious co-star, who is also her Godfather, Vin Diesel, who is later seen walking her down the aisle
“We’re married,” she wrote alongside the video, to which her now-husband replied: “Yes we are!!!”
London-born Louis is believed to have popped the question during a desert getaway the two took in August.
