Nearly half of all women are attracted to TV loudmouth Piers Morgan – but only when they are drunk.
The former Good Morning Britain host – who quit the show last week over his remarks on the Oprah Winfrey Royal Family racism rumpus – is the UK’s most popular “beer goggle” pin-up.
According to a poll by affairs website IllicitEncounters (corr) Piers, 55, is the celebrity most women fancy when they have supped a few sherbets.
Around 39% said they do not find him attractive when they are sober but warm to him in drink.
He was followed by Jeremy Clarkson (26%), David Walliams (17%), Simon Cowell (12%) and Boris Johnson (6%).
Piers’ popularity soared after his brutal TV grilling of Government ministers over their handling of the pandemic which sparked calls for him to take over as Prime Minister.
He left Good Morning Britain after saying he did not ‘believe a word’ of a publicity shy former actress’s race attack on the Royals.
His last show beat long time rival BBC Breakfast in the ratings for the first time ever.
Since he walked out GMB has lost nearly a third of its viewers – pulling in less than 900,000 viewers for its past three days compared to 1.29million who watched his final appearance.
It is also having a knock-on effect on programmes following after with 1.1million people tuning in for Lorraine on ITV at 9.15am on Tuesday compared to 1.29 million last week.
Researchers polled 2,000 people to find the nation’s beer goggle hunk.
The dictionary definition of beer goggles is the “phenomenon in which one’s consumption of alcohol makes physically unattractive persons appear beautiful”.
Gemma Collins topped the female poll with 28% of the vote followed by Coleen Nolan (26%), Kirsty Allsopp (23%), Lorraine Kelly (15%) and Alison Hammond (8%).
The poll also found 68% of women and 87% of men were more likely to sleep with someone on a date if they had been drinking alcohol.
While 52% of women and 64% of men admitted they have had beer goggle sex – while a third regretted it in the morning.
Both sexes said the main reason they hit the booze was it “helps to break the ice”.
IllicitEncounters.com sex and relationship expert Jessica Leoni (corr) said: “Lots of us are all getting ready to properly date again as lockdown ends and many people are going to be a bit rusty after a year of restrictions.

“What better way to get in the mood and put your date at ease by having a few drinks while you get to know each other.
“Beer goggles are a good thing and dating would be so much duller without alcohol.
“It shows up the real person much more quickly and helps daters to decide early on whether they want to go to second base with a new partner.
“Wearing beer goggles can make even Piers Morgan attractive to almost half of women.’”
