Reese Witherspoon has admitted she loves being mistaken for her 22-year-old daughter as it makes her “feel young”.
The 45-year-old actress gushed over her “down to earth” daughter Ava in a new interview with CBS broadcaster, Gayle King for InStyle.
The stunning Hollywood star explained that it’s probably not easy for her 22-year-old as she looks exactly like her, but deals with it rather well.
The proud mum said: “Well, I love being mistaken for her because it makes me feel so young.
“I am so proud of her. She really rolls with it. I’m sure it’s not easy looking exactly like your mother.
Interviewer Gayle jumped in to correct her: “Reese, stop it! When Mama looks like you, it is very easy.”
Reese went on to explain that her and Ava chat to Reese’s Big Little Lies co-star Zoe Kravits a lot because she looks just like her mother Lisa Bonet.
She added: “Whenever Ava is frustrated, I go, ‘Call Zoë, text Zoë, she knows what to talk about.’ I mean, that’s another mother-daughter combo that’s like identical twins.”
The Oscar-winner wanted to praise Ava for being so “down-to-earth” and that she’s hoping to do great things in the world.
Reese shares Ava, as well as her son Deacon, 18, with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, as well as her nine-year-old Tenessee with movie mogul, Jim Toth.
Witherspoon opened up about what life is like for her children as they’ve grown up famous, drawing comparisons between her own upbringing and theirs.
She admitted it’s an “odd situation” that her kids grew up famous, whilst she didn’t.
She also said that her family are lucky to have pals who grew up in Hollywood, as it has helped her children deal with life in the limelight.
Reese added: “My first, most important priority is my kids. If I told you how much space in my brain they take up every day — do you even think they know? I don’t even think they know.”
Reese won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as country singer, June Carter Cash in the musical film Walk the Line (2005).
