Shaun Ryder admits it’s embarrassing that everyone thinks he’s “off his napper” – but he simply can’t stop seeing aliens.
The Happy Mondays legend has become as famous for spotting UFOs as singing in recent years, and even made TV shows about close encounters.
But he insists this is not out of choice – he is being targeted by them.
Shaun told me: “I don’t go spotting for it, it just f***ing appears! Once these things are on you they make you sound like a t**t because they keep appearing in front of you and coming around where you are.
“Obviously, I have to say something and then everyone thinks I’m a c*** cos I’m off me f***ing napper.”

A couple of years ago Shaun revealed his home had been invaded by a tiny “spider” spaceship and he still has strange experiences today.
He added: “It is how it is, they’re f***ing here – they were here before us, probably.”
Shaun is plotting a new Black Grape album and he’s also prepping a movie of his rise to fame in the Happy Mondays.
And he believes the Madchester band would still have made it in today’s music scene dominated by streaming and social media.
He explained: “People say it’s harder now but if you look at what we were to rock ’n’ roll, today you got the f***ing grime kids doing their own thing and making it.
Piers for PM? Have your say!
The Daily Star has projected an image of Piers Morgan onto the Houses of Parliament – and we’re asking you are we ready for #PMFORPM?
Last week the Daily Star jokingly asked the question on nobody’s lips: Would PM be a better PM than our current PM?
And it seems we may have inadvertently unleashed a monster. Shy and retiring Piers – no stranger to holding our politicians to account on Good Morning Britain – leapt on the idea.
His odds were slashed from 500/1 to just 20/1 in a single day.
So, are you Team Piers or Team Bozo? Take part in our survey!
“It shows no matter what, your music can get out there.
“These kids, when they play shows, they have a ton of people following them. So I think the Mondays would have got out there one way or the other.”
