TOWIE's Joey Turner assures fans he's okay after 'sparking concerns' with photos

The Only Way is Essex’s Joey Turner has told fans “I’m okay” after fans shared their concerns about his appearance in photos he shared on Instagram.

The former TOWIE actor had posted a series of photos, with fans reacting to his change in appearance since leaving the reality tv show five months ago.

However, Joey assured fans that he is ok, saying in a statement: “Thanks to everyone who has messaged me with kind words.

“I really appreciate you all.

“If I’m honest I’m not phased by the comments, I just want those who are about me to know I’m okay.

“I don’t care about the comments simply because it’s hard to care for the opinions of people that know nothing about me, my diet, my metabolism or my medical history with my weight.”

He added: “I’m a 20-year-old student, I’m not on TV. I’m a student like any other and I am not your role model, so if you want someone to look up to I suggest putting someone else on a pedestal because I am not him.”

Joey had previously shared photos of him posing in a number of outfits, including snakeskin trousers and a tiger print top, with worried fans reacting to the posts.

One fan said: “The more you post, the more concerned I am getting,” while another fan said: “TOWIE friends please check he is okay.”

Joey Turner became a fan favourite after joining the cast of The only Way is Essex in 2019, after being approached by bosses of the hit ITV show.

However, in his emotional final scenes five months ago, Joey told his friend Pat Chloe Brockhurst that he was leaving Essex and was returning to Manchester University to study Fashion Design.

Chloe recently responded to comments which saw fans tag her in his posts to help him, she shared her frustrations over “getting maned at by complete strangers” and said she speaks to him regularly, adding: “Joey is fine”.
