Willie Garson was seen filming his final Sex And The City scenes last month, just weeks before his death sent shockwaves through fans following a battle with cancer.
The Hollywood star died earlier this week, his family confirmed, aged 57. Although his cause of death was not determined, the actor was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer prior to his death.
Just weeks before his death the actor had appeared on set with his co-stars as a series of pictures were released from his time filming.
In one photo Willie could be seen filming alongside his on-screen husband Mario Cantone on August 2.
Willie had starred in 27 episodes of Sex And The City which ran for six seasons on HBO from 1998 until 2004.
The US actor also appeared in the two big screen versions of the show, including one in 2008 and its sequel titled Sex And The City 2, in 2010.
The upcoming HBO reboot called And Just Like That… will see the popular cast reunite for a series, excluding Kim Catrall, who opted no to take part in the film.
In the weeks leading up to his death, the actor who plays Stanford Blatch, could also be seen heading to his trailer on set in a smart navy blue top and chinos.
Meanwhile, in other snaps the actor could be seen alongside the lead star Sarah Jessica Parker who is Stanford’s best pal Carrie Bradshaw.
Speaking about the upcoming reboot of the show Willie shared his excitement about his character’s return.
He told US Weekly: “It didn’t hit me until I was in wardrobe yesterday and it was, like, literally stepping into the shoes again.
“It was great. I was just telling my friends… that I probably was wearing about $200,000 worth of clothing yesterday.
“And it was right away and it was like, ‘Oh, this is us, here we are.'”
Devastated co-stars commented on the news as they heard of Willie Garson’s death, with the likes of Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall commenting on the actor.
Kim shared her condolences as she called his death a “terrible loss”, while Cynthia Nixon added: “He was endlessly funny on-screen and in real life. He was a source of light, friendship and show business lore. He was a consummate professional – always.”
