BBC Breakfast star shut down by colleague live on air in awkward show moment

BBC Breakfast turned slightly awkward during the latest edition of the morning show as sports presenter Mike Bushell tried to share his own weather news.

The TV star appeared on the famous red sofa on Friday (June 10) to discuss the latest headlines with hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt

After finishing his segment, Mike said: “Looking at the skies this morning, i’d say it’s fair for the cricket.”

After a short pause, Charlie replied: “What do you know?”

Mike responded: “What do I know? Nothing”

Charlie continued: “Let’s speak to someone who does. How about that?”

Naga added: “When you tread on her toes you know what she gets like.”

BBC Breakfast star Mike Bushell was playfully shut down by his co-stars as he began to share his own weather news

A laughing Mike replied: “That’s why I didn’t” before giving up and finishing mid-sentence.

The camera later panned to Carol Kirkwood, who was waiting in the wings to give the latest weather forecast.

She said: “Mike is absolutely right.”

Naga replied: “Well he would be wouldn’t he.”

A giggling Carol said: “He’s such a star. I won’t have a bad word say about Mike.”

Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty were back on presenting duty on Friday

It comes after Carol was playfully told to “wait your turn” by Naga during Thursday’s (June 9) episode.

Mike said: “I always get misty-eyed when I seen Carol. In a nice way.”

Naga pointed out: “Is there a negative way about being misty-eyed about Carol?”

Mike replied: “No” before Carol quickly interrupted saying: “I am here, chaps”.

A giggling Naga went on to joke: “We’re talking about you, not too you. You wait your turn.”

Carol Kirkwood was on hand to bring the latest weather forecast

Carol could be seen laughing before Naga added: “Now is a good time Carol.”

The Scottish presenter then proceeded to discuss the latest weather forecast.

Earlier in the same show, Naga took a swipe at Charlie over his comment about the weather.

After Carol finished one of her bulletins, the broadcaster shared an observation.

Carol could be heard giggling but Naga didn’t seem too impressed with the comment.

She said: “You wonder Carol, how long has he been doing this and he’s only now figured that out.”

Carol replied: “Charlie is right. It is different in different places

Charlie responded: “Thank you, good point.”
